Want to ditch a trademark domain, can I 301 redirect?

I have a domain that contains a trademark term, earning me a decent amount of money. I've been uneasy about this domain for a while now, and want to ditch it. Can I save the juice with a 301 redirect across the site, to a non-TM domain? It as an EMD domain which ranks #1 for the exact phrase, so I'm worried I'll lose that ranking. Thoughts welcome...

Yes you can. 301 redirect passes some link juice/Authority to the target domain. I have used this method to recover one of my domains after it was hit by panda. Now that we have recent EMD penalties, 301 redirects are among the most favored methods.

Eventually google will also discard this benefit once they realize that people are abusing it. But for now , definitely you can take advantage of it.

Ok that's good to hear, thanks Anil. So if I setup exact 301 redirects for each page (simple to automate with .htaccess as paths will be identical at the new site), hopefully I can save the rankings.
