Advice - where to focus time on backlinks based on keywords

Hello everyone!


I'm trying to decide where to focus my time on building backlinks. I'm not sure I understand how pages on the same website get ranked based on SIMILAR keywords.


For example. I have two pages on my site that are geared towards selling a business plan I have created for a specific profession.


Page "A" is easy to rank for and I am already #5 but of course the traffic to that page is light. Page "B" is more difficult to rank for but has tons more traffic, however I am on page 9.


Page A - "X Business Plan Template" 590 searches per month
Page B - "X Business Plan" 1600 searches per month


My question is - should I continue building links to Page A and will it eventually rank for the Keywords on page B? Or do I work on building links to page B even though it is more competitive and difficult to rank for?

Any suggestions or guidance is greatly appreciated.

    I would make it one super page because as you are building links for "X Business Plan Template" it is also counting towards that keyphrase "X Business Plan"

    Having one page will let you build links for 2 purposes.

    You could 301 redirect Page A to Page B, to pass link juice, or as you see it. The point being, similar keywords should be on same page in that case.
