Keyword Density Analysers -- What are You Guys Using?

Hey Everyone,

I'm writing a blog post on keyword density and plan to review a few tools. There are a few good ones that I make use of personally when writing for clients but was wondering what other Warriors are using. How do you guys check the density of your content and web pages, and how accurate are these checkers? Any input appreciated.

    • Thanx J,

Yup, I do too, and find that it helps. But what about the words and phrases one repeats unintentionally while focusing on those money terms. Hehe, especially when writing loads of content -- keeping track of all of them could prove painful.
    • Exactly the right amount of keyword density mentioned by you JaryCu.I too don't have any keyword density checker but yes if i need to have a look on them i just use the formula for it.

      Keyword Density = (Nkr / Tkn) x 100
      Where,
      Density = your keyword density
Nkr = how many times you repeated a specific keyword
Tkn = total words in the analyzed text
  • Here is one that I use Free Keyword Density Analyzer Tool

    • Hmm, thanks. I'll need to check its accuracy but it seems like one my readers might appreciate.

  • This is the Keyword Density Analyzer that I use. I like it 'cause it gives cloud version, plain list as well as combined version, so it makes it easier for me to analyze the keyword density.

    • Thanks, I'll check it out.
  • There are too many keyword density shenanigans going on for Google to give a damn about the metric anymore. Once an SEO metric goes mainstream on the forums, you can bet Google is shifting much of its weight to other metrics.

    • Isn't keyword density an outdated, irrelevant, AltaVista-era concept?
Yes, it is. However, relative keyword density is not. If your site is about cucumbers, and you are competing for the search term 'cucumbers', but there is more content about 'ipod' or 'mom' or 'Elvis' than 'cucumbers', your site's performance will be affected.

    • Have you tried whatsmyserp.com keyword density checker It is probably the newest one out there, but it allows you to enter multiple keywords and phrases and it will highlight them in the results. It also shows and highlights your keywords in your title, description, meta tags, and header tags.

We will be tying it into our SERP checker soon, so you will be able to click a link on your SERP results to check your keyword density, so you won't have to type your url and keywords in each time.

Give it a try. Curious what everyone thinks.
