YouTube Ranks Videos by Time-Watched

Suddenly all those "1000 YouTube Views for $5" type sellers might have a harder time selling their service. If most of the views were bots or inadvertant and wouldn't watch the video all the way through, they're not going to help search ranks any more.

Sounds like a good change to me.

I think the view time has been a ranking factor for a while now.

Perhaps it's time to make more 10 second videos.

If this is true, then it will be lot easier to rank videos no. There are many services where you can buy real views.

Would shorter length youtube videos be the route to go now? I know I am usually more likely to watch a shorter 2-4 minute video than a 20 minute video. But, yeah I guess the number of views might not be quite as important compared to the time watched. It's a tough call.
