Anyone else's wordpress blogs getting hammered with spam lately? Seems like askimet isn't work anymore?

    Yes I noticed the same a few days ago to 2 of my sites. They all came through the contact page so I just logged in and added 2 security questions to the contact plugin. The spam was all about lui vitton stuff if I remember correctly.

    I have my spams all over my comment box. Captcha isn't really helping too, which I just installed a few days ago.

    Yea, I think it is due to all the latest integrated Captcha solver software programs that do not require a monthly fee. People can now spam any target without worrying about captcha costs.

    Growmap's working really well for me since Andy did the update to make the form field random.

    Askimet is junk, I don't know why people use this.

    My phpbb board is getting a load of crap signups - I think somebody has solved the 2+4 = 6 numerical type of captcha.

    aarghh spammers..
    its very difficult to stop them..
    if you get a solution to stop them they ill find some other solution to again spam you..

    Yeah I actually changed my commenting plugin because it was an ongoing issue. I added a plugin called bulk remove comments. With one click of the mouse they all go bye bye!

    I haven't seen any change, mine have been like that for a long time, my guess is your blog might have been added to one or more blog commenting lists recently.

    I have a question regarding Spamming a wordpress blog (namely mine). I just started my blog last July and I'm getting spammed to death. Last week I just shut the comment section down. But the thing is I want legitimate comments, but not the junk. What should I do? Forgive if this has been asked and answered. I'm fairly new at blogging and definitely new on this forum.
