Never blast directly to your $ site...but...

It seems like all I ever hear is not to send crappy links to your money site or else you're going to get slapped. Which obviously makes sense, right? But the thing that I don't understand is that people then say, set up your buffer sites (2.0s, etc.) and link to your site through those, and then blast your buffer sites. Supposedly this is suppose to place a veil over your shifty backlinking, which I also understand - partly. Theoretically the 2.0s are supposed to be able to handle the massive backlinks, and they won't be a red flag to google in the sense that it's a fresh pr0 domain that's getting crazy links. But still, won't google pick up the unnatural links to the 2.0s, and recognize them for what they are? Just a veiled attempt at manipulating page rank for the money site? I feel like even if you did a goog job on the 2.0s and made them look professional, lived in, etc.... google would notice.

Am I being too paranoid?

  • If the 2.0 you're using is already an authoritative domain/brand, the chances of you having any problems I would say is extremely slim. If it already has authority, then it should already be garnering natural links..so it wouldn't look suspect to get a huge deluge of links in a small period of time.

Most of those sites are based around social networking...and the nature of social networking is tons of people linking to something very quickly. I wouldn't worry too much, that's why they're buffer sites...if something goes wrong your site is protected.

    • But if "something goes wrong" won't Google easily be able to tell that the only true purpose of the 2.0 is to send link juice to the main site, thereby implicating the money site in the practice of unnatural link building?

      Thanks for your reply!
