The official blog announced that "time watched" is becoming a ranking factor on youtube.
It will also be part of the analytics there.

I think that this move aims clearly in the direction of content quality
and is a step to weed out crap*y 10 second stuff with "bot clicks".

    Thank you for this one. Never tried to optimise our videos on youtube and honestly it's my first time to read the youtube blog
