FaceBook Ads better with Person's Picture in the little ad image ?

I am trying to target people interested in learning about making viral youtube videos........ was thinking, about trying an image of the Book Cover text for the ad but then said, let me use the author's magazine cover picture.. Probably bring more attention

    Best way to know is to test it. I think different niches/ads respond differently. There is no absolute answer to that. The image is also going to play a role in the amount of clicks and who clicks. You could use some sexy photo of a woman, which will probably get more clicks, but it may not be as targeted of traffic as you are looking for.

  • I think that any FB ad is better with a picture than with no picture at all. The picture should be targeted to your audience's interests. The only way to know which picture(s) will work is to test different ones.

      You have raised an excellent question, and I'm going to give you an excellent answer to your question. Someone above mentioned "Testing" what you put into your Ad. That person is absolutely correct.

      When ever you create an Ad, do so with the thought that you are going to test the entire Ad. Not only the image in the Ad are you going to test, but every aspect of the copy. However, you want to be careful as to how much you change in your Ad to test at any given time, and certainly, you want to make sure you have a second Ad to run your test against.

      For example, you mentioned putting your picture in the Ad. Fine, do that, and then make another Ad with the same copy, but this time put a different image in the Ad. This image should be relative to what you are advertising. Now watch your stats for each Ad for at least about 100 clicks, and ascertain which Ad is giving you the best results. The key is, you only want to test very little in your Ad, for example, test your Headline and leave the rest of the copy the same. Now, allow a number of clicks to accumulate, and determine which gives you the best result. You continue to do that process which will ensure you to get more clicks, but remember all clicks don't represent all buyers. My experience is, twenty clicks equals one lead. I would be interested in finding out what others are getting as a click/lead ration.

    Hi,

    A very important thing to focus on is targeting the right audience in the first place. Just putting up a photo that gets clicks will not be successful in the long run. Fortunately, targeting is easy with Facebook, you just need to spend more time setting it up and figuring out EXACTLY what defines your target.

    Then, yes, portraits do work better for most people that have reported testing, but you need to test it for yourself. Use multiple photos.

    In a recent test of my own, exact same text, headline, target market the only difference was the use of the logo for one image and a portrait for the other. Clicks were higher by 3 percentage points for the portrait.
