I have a display campaign in adwords targeted for 35+ age groups for a casual dating campaign. What happens here is that i changed everything: landing, adds, sales texts, aff number, rotate offers... but the result is always the same: a lot of clicks in my dashboard and 0 conversions.

Why does it happen?

what does it require the user to do to convert? and you might want to track the key words you may have used since its obviously giving you untargeted traffic or there could be something wrong with the offer.

Could be that the landing page doesn't convert. You may need to work on that.

After purging the bad websites i have a lot fewertraffic, but i had a conversion out of 5 clicks (from 10 people) that costed me $0.32, and the conversion is $1,1. Now i expect that this Roi will be the same all the time.

Users have to complete a profile, and that is fill 10 0r 12 fields and then confirm their email.

I have many keywords separated by adgroups, at the beginning i ran the ads in the search, but as the offer was requering a 30+ adgroup i moved to the display. When I click the keyword in google i see that therer are a lot of competitors promoting dating. But now i realized that as it's display, the ads run by websites, so i tiped the websites were my ads are running, and most of them are classified sites (sometimes with classifieds of women) and then there is some dating website, but no adult dating website (surely because adsense bans adult websites), is it the cause? So how i solve it, promoting by website instead of by keyword?

I excluded a lot of websites, this week from 168 clicks than converted into a click to my cta, only 18 came from websites taht i do not have excluded, and this week i had one conversion. The problem is that now i will have very low traffic.

There are several factors which affect conversions. Some of them are:

    a. The ads you are displaying and the landing pages what you have are not relevant,
    b. Landing page dont have proper call per action
    c. There is hardly any trust factor which can influence buyer to purchase
    d. Keywords you are targeting can be generic so need to make those proper (like adding negative keywords, phase, exact match use, long tell keywords use etc).
    ETC.

As a conversion rate optimizer there are more than 50 factors which affect a buyer to decide whether to purchase from the site or not. I will recommend hire some professional who can assist you and fix those issues (may be this will cost you but this really worth it in long term. Dont think for sort term but see the big picture). Else you will invest your time money, try different ways and at the end you will loose money and no guarantee of success.

    All the best.
