    For the most spun articles have little benefit but some article sites still come up on page 1 for certain keywords so it will not hurt.

    I did a case study two months ago and got a bunch of article links. They definitely produced a positive benefit. But, honestly it doesn't work as well as it used to. I've been able to produce a lot more benefit in case studies that get links from different sources.

    Yes, article marketing still works and according to my view what not works is blasting 20K article submission out of which people donot know that 10K for e.g. are already deindexed article directories, that kind of things are no more working.

    I quite agree. Article marketing still works but not as good as it used to be. You might do well on guest posting to high PR sites in you niche rather than submitting them to article directories. That will give you a more relevant and high quality backlink.

    Article marketing still works but it is not the juggernaut that it used to be. Why? Well, in the past, you could submit one article and it would get picked up by many sites and each inbound link would add value. Now, if all of those inbound links have the same anchor text, it could actually hurt you.

    The way to do article marketing now is to create quality articles in quality article directories. Lately, I have noticed that eZinearticles has been coming back.

    So, article marketing should be a part of your SEO plan, but with less emphasis that it had in the past.

    Also, as mentioned above, guest blogging is a very healthy substitute for article marketing.

    The best article sites are the ones that arent "Article Sites". Contact site owners personally that are looking for fresh content and ask if you can give them free content and leave your link at the end of each article.

      I'm getting a lot of emails from SEO companies that are offering to write articles for my site as long as they could have one link. I asked one of them to send me an article and guess what it was run of the mill respun article.

    They do work of course, but the problem is that the articles that were meant for backlins will end up in nowhere. No one wants to read them, and no one wants to find them. The sites that do provide hosting of articles are overpopulated with millions of similar articles and hence all its value turns out very low.
    If you can get your articles posted on some real sites, that would get some real exposure and some decent pr as well, then you are probably in the right track.
    It might be a good idea of mixing up some articles with other links sources, but I wouldn't suggest over-exaggerating on articles. After all they take a lot of time, and for one article you could get a dozen of similar links from commenting.

      Nowadays Ezine has become a lot stricter with the type of content you post on there now.

    It works but it is not as effective as it used to be.

    Mainly because: Google deindexed a ton of sites, sites die and drop off your list.

    Generally speaking, i will try and get my new money site linked from all the top article directories. Doing automatic submission with something like article marketing robot is something i also do, but i used naked URL links only.

    From my testing automation still works from services like AMR & UAW etc, AMR is ok but not as niche related at unique article wizard which I have had the most success with but I am currently testing to see how others perform.

    I use naked urls and generic anchor text like "click here" in my author box with only limited frequency for the use of keyword anchor text as my article category/niche will be picked up accordingly by the engines.

    Yeah article directories still work. What about submitting articles on free niche directories like article-niche.com, mind-brain.com or moneylearningcenter.com? Guess the point is these days, articles can't be spun.

    I have used UAW for the last 11 months and yes there was some issues back in April when the big G completed their Panda and Penguin updates. Since then, UAW has responded with a social exchange and changes in their submission guidelines to weed out the spam and useless spun content. If you follow their natural submission tips they provide and include some social media links in your articles it is still very successful. I have heard they are coming out with the uawpro site that will help many SEO companies fix their client's panda and penguin issues. I have used the UAW support team to help fix a few over optimized back link issues for a couple of clients and it has saved those gigs for me.

    Most of internet marketer try to use spun article and thatch why they are not able to get quality result.But still it works and last few weeks i get vary good quality result .
