Lol..I guess yea but on the other side if a site was hit by some links and Google discovered them and warned you or if you did some shady linking and you want to get rid of it and start clean then you can do it, it has two edges

That's exactly what I thought most people would do:
      1. Buy links
      2. Drop in SERPs (might not be the paid links)
      3. Disavow paid links

Now take 10 guys running the disavow link tool on a single paid link network, IMO, that network will be red flagged, & Google didn't have to do anything to find the link source (let the webmasters nark themselves out (disavow tool)).

I'm sure Google is counting how many times a single URL is reported in the disavow tool.

No, you have to be logged in to your webmaster tool to do it but I guess if one site pointed many links to many sites and the webmasters used the tool to flag it then Google will stop counting/penalizing links from that site since it has been reported

You can only disavow your own site's links in your GWT.

Log in to GWT and go to this url: https://www.google.com/webmasters/to...vow-links-main

How in the world do you think that anyone can disavow anyone's links with Google "disallow" tool ? you are the only one who has access to own site in webmaster tool, in order to get site in GWT you have to verified own site putting the code in your admin area after you Log-In or verified through Google analytic, so how somebody else can use disavow tool against your site if they don't have access to your site..? what a joke....

How would your competitors remove your links? the link will be ignored if it points to your site and you submit it using the webmasters tool for a verified site so no one can do it..he mentioned that all the comments will be impacted so to be honest the link you got is not a genuine link and it is considered a spam so if I am Google then hell yea I would ignore it!

Why is this tool such a disaster?

First, who's going to use it?
The first category of people are people who are dreaming of the glory days of a long ago (or pre April 25) ranked number one site. They are hoping this last ditch attempt will bring the site back to life.
I hate to break it to you. You have a snowflake's chance in hell of that happening.
The other category of people who are going to want this tool, of course, is your competition.
They are going to love using Mechanical Turk to put all of your back links in the disavow tool. Thanks Google, you're awesome.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is what I am getting from that article:

So if your competition puts all your backlinks in the disavow tool, this would send a signal to Google that links from those sites are not good (since your competitors will do this not just on one webmaster account/site), therefore directly affecting you because the links from those sites would seem suspicious and since your site has backlinks from those sites it would hurt you in the long run.

This is what I'm getting form that article.

        Ed clearly doesn't get it.

You cannot just put any link into the tool. It is for links pointing to YOUR site. Also, according to Google, those sites will not be negatively impacted if someone requests a link from it be disavowed.

Yes thats right. basically the link that you reported to google will then act as if its a nofollow.
