Hi,

I've started a new site. I have 4 pages and 4 posts on the home page. I am going to update blog daily from now on. I've done no link building but I'm quite happy to see that blog is already PR 0. But my concern is that from the very first day I couldn't get any visitor to my blog; not even a single visitor as far as I remember. Although blog is pretty new, started in this month(October) but I'm just wondering how can I get traffic until I reach in top pages on search engines.

The other point I'm concerned with is about number of affiliate links per post. What I'm currently doing is 4 links with "nofollow" tags per post. Two text links and two image links per post(around 500+ words.). Is that fine? Are they too many or OK?

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Traffic comes in time friend. You can do guest blogging on similar sites to yours (just contact those admins). Or wait till your seo rankings improve (build backlinks to do that). After panda be careful to build the right way though.

Your blog is still new, so getting traffic will take time. You should share your blog on sites like facebook and twitter and i'm sure you will get visitors.

For the starters, main source of traffic is never automatic. It is created. You must understand there are generally three organic way to attract visitors.
First through search result, which i dont think would fetch you any looking at your situation.
Secondly through direct method means somebody knowing about your site and visiting it. This option also out of the window since its very new site.
Third one, refered through different sites. This might create some chances to generate traffic at the moment. Look at the following method.
    1) Getting social with your acquaintance and posting thread in facebook, twitter, G+ , Reddit, stumbleupon. There are many high profile social sites.
    2) posting about your site links in blog comments.
    3) Getting invloved in forum and pointing people to visit your site.
    4) searching for nice sites and asking them to exchange links, which in return may generate traffic.

There are other end nos. of method you may utilize. But nothing is automatic until you optimize your site onpage and offpage.

Further coming back to point of affiliates link. Unless and until links are nofollow, you have nothing to worry.

As you have said, you've done no link building yet. Well you need to do something for traffic to start coming in. Social media can be a good start indeed.

    Hi Rana,

Your links per post are fine. As long as what you're doing is natural, there shouldn't be any problem.

So... Right now your main concern is traffic...

The easiest way to get traffic to your site immediately is to go to places where traffic already exists. In other words, go to high traffic websites. Places where there are tons of people, like forums, other high traffic blogs, social networking sites, Web 2.0 sites, etc.

And then redirect that traffic to your site through various methods, like attracting them by leaving forum posts with your signature, comments, helpful information, and more.

Of course, you'll need to have some good content on your site first to get them to stay during their visit. And you'll need to target traffic that'll be interested in what you have to offer.

    Hope that helps!

Make your blog social. Tell people about it via Twitter and Facebook. Allow comments, guest posts, likes, shares, etc. It takes time to build a good fan base. Social media is the way to start!

When using the likes of Facebook, go look for pages in your niche. Find the smaller ones. 'Like' them or share their link. As they are small pages with few fans like yours, you're likely to get a retribution. 10 or more of those and you've got yourself a start-up audience right there.

In other words, don't aim for the honchos. They don't care about you.

    • In order to increase traffic, add content regularly and promote your posts on social media sites. Submit your content to social bookmarking websites, create a Facebook fan page, and use Q & A sites to get traffic and backlinks. Write guest posts on the most popular sites and blogs in your niche - this is a great way to attract targeted traffic to your pages.

    Hi,

I would suggest give some do follow links if it is linking to your post or pages. It will give weight to your post because it is linking to your do follow post. When linking to affiliate sites, it's okay to make it nofollow
