Seems you're taking a very broad approach to it. You can't simply just download a list of links, sort them by ACrank and then go. Shoot from the hip, much ? You'll kill innocent links that way.

If you're gonna use it, you have to be precise. You have to do the work, and manually go through your list of links and pick out the bad ones.

    Another thing...
Using this tool alone WITHOUT actually trying to get links removed will probably not get you very far.

I agree Retsek, but you and I both know that, as a last resort, and for dead sites that have lost all traffic - and hence have nothing to lose anyway, Becker's type of strategy is what peeps are gonna do.

de saturate your anchor text profile by making new links. This is VERY hard to do with new links because they take a long time to index
I disagree. No one indexes faster than Google. Create a page, post, etc., add a link, and in many instances Google finds it at the speed of light. Even new websites are quickly picked up. Rankings can go up and down quickly as a result.

Ironically, when promoting your backlink product you claim extremely fast results due to Google rapidly indexing new links.

When you have smaller clients or a small site, removing one or two of the links can give DRAMATIC results. In the past you had to do this manually, but with the new tool cleaning up these is easy as pie.
The disavow tool was announced a mere 24 hours ago and no one can claim expertise that using it will easily create dramatic results.

Assuming Pinocchio Matt Cutts is to be believed, using it doesn't guarantee anything will happen, or when it will happen, and he repeatedly stated "legit" websites will not have to use it. Frankly, smells more like a Google "honeypot" to me and the latest tactic to identify "SEO abusers."

The "mom and pop" websites that don't have to use the tool to fix some rogue backlinks, they don't even have Google webmaster accounts to begin with. There is a tiny audience for this tool, an audience disproportionately consisting of webmasters Google is doing everything it can to eliminate.

To be fair, the initial post does state "skepticism" about Google and the tool. I think that needs to be emphasized. I would rather let others use the tool and see what happens.

My prediction is a lot of webmasters created many gutter quality back links and en masse are now going to try and get rid of them, with the only result being Google will now have more information identifying who they are.

Still wouldn't touch it. All you're helping Google do is target certain types of links. Basically just working against yourself in the long run, and making yourself part of their algorithm.

Come on Mike That freight train is coming. Aint nothing we can do to stop it. As Vadar would say

Puuu Puuh "It is USELESS" to resist " puuuh puuh

As one of the few old timers that were telling people along time ago not to put up a pile of mass spammy links we should be writing up the WSO not complaining.

You wanna do the video? You could do it in a pub. Come on you know you want to. There hasn't been a WSO SEO Video with a guy drinking suds and drawing out diagrams EVER. You could get wasted and finish the video with

"and thats how your redeem your sites with the disavow tool"

and then pass out falling right out the chair. Fade to black. People would be talking about our WSO for YEARS. Good for at least a 15 page WSO. LOL

Come on Mikey, I can sense the conflict within you. I feel the WSO in you. We can rule this disavow tool as Mike and Mike.
