CAUTION! New Link Disavow Tool By Google

Hellow fellow Warriors,

you probably already know that Google has recently announced release of their new Link Disavow tool.

What it basically does it allows you to "clean" your link profile by telling Google which links they should not count towards your site.

My advice is:

DO NOT USE THIS TOOL

It is very likely that the tool is just a fishing expedition from Google, much like the Unnatural Links email was. In fact, more Unnatural Links emails have been going out today as people started using this new tool!

Just like the re-inclusion requests, be very cautious. By using this tool, it basically confirms you've been trying to manipulate SERPs and could permanently flag your site as one to watch.

Wait a few weeks. If you want to use it try to use it on a site that you do not care much about. Not your main money site.

Google is not our friend (SEOers) and they are literally trying to do their best to KILL seo as a whole.

Here is the official video:

Take care,
Tibor

Yes! Because they think are gaming the system. Well many are, but there also few honest ones.

No matter how much you will warn poeple not to use this tool. All webmasters who suffered or got hit by penguin (there are plenty of them!) will rush instantly to use it and they will report all the links they built in the past just to recover from penguin. Hopefully.

The question is how Google will use this Huge links Database in the near future ?

I like it when he mentions blog spam, comment spam, forum spam,
guestbook spam, you name it spam,....(very funny)
but people just have glossed over every hint
of what google says about such rot.

      They want to link-party like it's 1999.

I can't make a judgement about disavow, and the OP at
least brings up some points. I can't see the worth of
      it.

It's just one more way of google not being able to control
link spam, so, they keep devising ways of people doing
      it for them.

It will probably be about as much good as their nofollow
experiment that failed miserably to get rid of spam.

If some of these links were as worthless as google says,
they would not need to be deleted, now would they?

You can spam links without spamming.

I would like to reiterate his best statement:

"under normal circumstances, you do not need to use this tool."

Or, "most people do not need to use this."

      EXACTLY!!!!

Did he invent some huge connect four game?

Anyway, if people just stop the link spam, you could take him at
his word, "most people SHOULD not need to use this."

If you need to use this tool, you are link spamming fool. Do you
think google is really going to give you a reconsideration? Cutts
even tells you this in the video. It's not a panacea.

These are my sentiments exactly. Its still possible to spam your way to the top (I do it on a daily basis), so no matter what propoganda you hear, Google can't figure things out all on their own right now... to be perfectly honest the whole disavow thing just sounds like an attempt from Google to help us do their job.

I would use with caution. I could be wrong on this. I guess time will tell but i would use this as a last case option i think after trying various other methods to lift a Penguin or EMD penalty.

Disavow Tool is a good one, but it's quite difficult to find those links as maximum websites have thousands of backlinks in their account. It would be better if the tool comes with some more features. Use this tool with utmost care.

I'd say only use it if you have broken links pointing to your site from (a) certain domain(s). If you're links aren't broken, don't touch it.

    My thoughts on Disavow-

Why Google Disavow Is Bad News For SEO - Matthew Woodward

However since writing that post I have had a slight change in thought.

I do believe that anyone that has links from deindexed domains should run them through the disavow tool.

This is only beneficial for all partys involved except Google as your only telling them what they already know - but disavowing links from deindexed domains certainly can't do anyone any harm.

What if you duplicate your competitor's links and submit them to the disavow tool? How does that work?

Would it penalize your competitors as well? - Just some thoughts for people doing seo... What do you guys think?

Thats a very interesting train of thought to follow

Not to hard to replicate a lot of competitior links with a dummy site, then just disavow them all

      Interesting ^^
