Anyone know what's up with Bing?

I have a site that shows in Bing serps for a bunch of keywords. Actually makes sales off of Bing traffic a lot easier than the bigG.

Anyway...the site will stay up there for about a week. Then it's like it gets de-indexed, I'm talking the whole site gets dropped from Bing.

Then about another week later...it's all back again and I resume selling again.

This has been going on for over 2 months now. It's like a big PMS cycle only at twice a month instead. You could almost set your calender to it.

Is this the new normal for Bing now?

I think this is quite normal in Bing. It has happened to some of my sites as well.

If I'm not mistaken, Bing is a bit more sensitive to various ranking factors which could be the reason for the up and down cycle.

For example, is there something specific you do every week? Like a social media campaign?

It might be that Bing is sensitive to your social media signals that you send out once a week, and once it's over it drops you...

Sounds like normal business for Bing, my site has been up and running for 9 years and this still happens. I gave up trying to figure out the cause.

    • This has not been my experience with Bing. My sites seems to set like concrete on Page1 in Bing rankings. It's the Google monster that really keeps me on my toes. : ) At least, for Google is where I've had to make the most adjustments over the years, not Bing.
