Hey guys,

I just came across this in my BlueHost account.
Appearently, BlueHost is just handing out PR6 Backlinks with anchor text.
Has anyone tried this before?

I just submitted my website and will post whatever happens in this topic.

Cheers,
Seph

Well, that's good for you. However, it is not really the actual page of their website, maybe it is only the homepage Anyway, it's a good source of backlinks.

    Regards,

Complete nonsense. Why do you have the same sig link as on the app
      on that page?

Nothing to do with bluehost giving away PR6 backlinks. The whole
      idea is just laughable.

You think people will buy into some myth that bluehost is responsible
for that nonsense? I could put an ad on a squidoo lens, then crow that squidoo
      is offering my stuff.

If people think they are getting a free PR6 backlink, man no wonder so
      many failed threads.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

        Hi Paul,

It looks like a screenshot inside his bluehost hosting account for fivefreeapps - I don't use bluehost right now to check.

Either way, the PR is only at the root domain level and not on the directory listing page so it's something of a honey trap for the novice with that PR6 boast.

Doesn't look like much editorial control over which sites are accepted either - a straight cash grab.

        Hey there Paul,

Your (almost offensive) post confused me a bit.
I made this screenshot from within my BlueHost account...
I don't believe nor do I want people to buy into any myths and I have would have nothing to gain from such a thing.

My intentions were to make people aware of this option in case it does what it says and to find out whether people have any experiences with this option.

The cash grab here, Terry, is of course the service they offer to provide you with additional linkbuilding.
If the directory listing page doesn't have a PR6 value they're lying...
They're then just delivering worthless backlinks from a website with lots of (spammy) outbound links.
That might potentially hurt your rankings instead of improving them.

Yes, this is Attracta. A lot of web hosts are partners with Attracta & offer their services inside of cPanel. I think they have a non-cPanel plugin as well, but the majority of them are cPanel installations I believe.

Domain PR does not equal "page" PR.

Edit: Guess a few others have said this already.

As long it's free then it's good. The company behind it looks pretty serious and I'm more inclined to trust them then a free directory script installed on a free hosting lol.

Here's an example of a listing that has pr4:

As you said, as as long as it's free I'll try it on a site I don't care too much
