Hi, i launched a new site about 2 weeks ago. It was ranked #4 for my main keyword at first, but then about a week later it disappeared from google. It didn't get de-indexed completely, but when i search for my main KW the site is nowhere to be found.

Is this normal? If so, how long will it take before it can be found on google again? I didn't receive any messages from google webmaster tools, and i doubt it got penalized for anything since there's only about 8 backlinks on it so far.

Use site:youdomain.com, see whether it still get indexed. You may be affected by the EMD google algo update try searching for guide to help you. Most likely you need to de-optimize your site in order to rank back to #4

Its common for new sites to dance, just keep building links and adding some content. Then try checking rankings after 4-6 weeks again.

Search your site with term : info:yoursite.com in google, If you find result then it you may be affected with EMD update or google dance. As you get top page rank quickly so, it may be good dance. If it google dance then wait and watch it, you will get your rank back. Post unique and user target contents.

The site does show up when i do that, as i said, it's not de-indexed, it just won't show for my keywords. I Haven't got an EMD so it's not an issue of that. My KW is kinda low-mid competitive, so hopefully it's just a google dance.

Maybe, you were not consistent on building quality links? Just continue link building anyway and update your site with quality content on it. Remember your site is New so just wait for awhile.

Would backlinking consistency really impact such a new site? I've been adding about 2-3 backlinks every other day.

Yeah just keep building contextual links and it will return. It is usual for it to drop for a while when you rank highly to begin with. It's just Google's way or throwing its weight around and saying "You must respect my authority"
