Quality links - Suggestions?

Hey guys,

I know this topic was talked about too often and too much probably, but I will soon launch a new site which I plan to promote without "tricks" and build quality links, but the question is - How do you get them?

I'm not sure web 2.0 are considered quality links, guest posts are okay but if built from sites which are not authority and on pages without PR it's not that powerful anymore and with Google changing its tweaks every couple of months, how do you get your traffic to your site and really build powerful, useful and quality links?

Suggestions? Make them count please, I am not new to IM.

Thank you all.

Web 2.0 is quality link and has high PR authority ...

Web 2.0 sites are better option than article directories, Once you published your articles on these sites then build links from niche forums, blogs and promote pages on social networking sites.

Once you web 2.0 sites pages start ranking on top pages of Google then links from those pages would automatically pass quality link juice to your money site.

The thing is, the article will be published on a PR 0 or N/A page, so how does it help me really? It meas building links to the article page to gain him PR? So we're in circles here and again comes the question, where do you get these PR pages to build links from. Get it?

My web 2.0 page will be PR or N/A, so I need to start building links to the article? Don't know...not a promising strategy.

I don't see a lot of we 2.0 articles on first page of Google, I see authority sites, not blogger, hubpages or squidoo.

Let me see if I got this right.

Write an article pointing to my money site and publish on a web 2.0 site, then build links to that web 2.0 page? My article? This is what you mean?

And if Google decides to punish, it won't punish my site? The article has a link in it to my money site.

Video sharing sites are YouTube and Metacafe or something else?

      What are doc sharing sites?

I just posted a thread last week all about this (wrote a great post on my blog about it).

    Its in my sig.

Obtaining a quality link is not that difficult and I am going to add to my guide soon as well.

Actually some of Web 2.0 sites were only PR0 but they started showing on page 1 and boosted my site's fortunes so don't worry about their Page rank. If you have non-duplicate content then it still works. A lot of people are now advocating tiered link building where they direct a lot of links to their lower tiers. If Penguin punishes them that is okay but if it rewards them then your site gets a boost.

I also suggest tier'd link building in correlation with quality links to the money site. It should all look natural and its exactly what google wants post panda / penguin.

Here is the warrior thread about my post.

As you can see Mike also gave some other tips like pagerank (which I dont full agree with but he does make a good case and it is worth checking out) and also checking the relevance of the link manually based on what the website has been since inception using the way back machine.

Both tips I will be adding to my guide in a part 2 hopefully coming out today or tomorrow.

Again, any other tips would be great and feel free to post on that thread above of mine with the ideas you have.

Make sure the page has a little outbound links leaking out link juice. Make sure the link page has high PR.

Try paid press releases, they are quality links inside authority domains that haven't been spammed..

      Ok no...

The thing being talked about above is Tierd linking.

The basic premise is to do this:

Main site = your money site.

Tier 1 links = web 2.0s, guest posts, relative quality authority links/

Tier 2 Links = comments, social bookmarks, fiverr gigs / spammy links

I believe that's what you are after my friend.

This is a great point. Press releases are quality authority links and well worth the money. If you need to get a press-release written cheap I got a guy that does em for $10 and they kick butt.

I use prlog mainly for press releases cuz they actually send me some traffic however other pr sites will do much more for a paid service.

First of all, start by adding only quality, interesting content to your website. Make beauty (design, typography, structure). Create and then manage your social media profiles daily. I know I didn't say anything much about link building, but believe me, as soon as you establish it, you will start to gain quality links naturally.

Power and useful links can be built with content and valuable comments. You need to think as a human, from the name of your website. For example, strive to bring valuable followers to your twitter profile - these are still "links", and in my opinion - way more powerful.
Agree with you here, the site will have a blog with interesting articles on it and the site itself will be useful. Of-course I'll also have a special Facebook page for it for followers.

That's true, I use myblogguest from time to time but the blogs there are not authority sites and the links are not that powerful. Building then links from tier 2 to an article with PR 0 is too much work, better to get a link from a page with PR from the first place.

If you dont like to write go to iwriter because they're cheap yet they provide great content.

and fiverr is also good, hear me out, not there backlinking services but rather gigs dealing with webmasters in your niche that have sites with PR. They're usually pretty strict when it comes to what kind of site they backlink to but if your content is golden and your site is the bomb then you should be ok.

REMEMBER ALWAYS GUEST BLOG IN YOUR NICHE
I use it from time to time, blogs there are not often that big or are authority.

True, paid press release sites can help, any idea the prices per post/release? I understand PRWeb is probably the best one?

I believe the key here that many of us have listed in Quality Content.

Gives me an idea. Not only are quality links important but how can we make quality content? What does it look like? Whats included?

Imma write a post right now

    Hi Rinor,

When it comes to building quality links, there are a few ways to go about it. First, a few things that you mentioned...

Web 2.0 sites: They may be considered quality links, but it depends on which sites you get the links from. Higher quality sites like Squidoo, Identica, etc may benefit you.

Guest posts: The solution to your problem is simple. Namely, guest post on high authority sites that are unlikely to get affected by Google changes. Look for sites that are popular, and somewhat of an authority in your niche. But the purpose of guest posting, should not be to build links alone. Building relationships might be a more important thing.

Other than that, some types of backlinks that can be considered as quality include links from press release sites, and other high authority sites.

High authority sites, meaning sites like the Wall Street Journal. For these types of sites, you can't get links. You have to attract links by getting them to write about you. And for that, you'll have to do some planning and strategizing.

Here's a really good case study on the topic of attracting quality links from high profile sites:

That's what I am talking about!

These kind of links are truly authority links, but what are the chances of these kind of sites writing a piece about a "regular" site?

Sure, I'll have quality content and will try to have it as interesting as possible but bear in mind that I am not a huge company with a lot of money so the site will really have to impress.

I'll read your post but I still think that's hard, although that's the best possible link.

      Thank you.

The advice they give is semi good.

All their onpage stuff is spot on and their tools are great.

But they suggest not buying links and im sorry they buy links. You can see this if you look at their profile (or atleast when they started). Now they have everyone (like above) linking to them but that is not how they made it at the start.

re: web 2.0 pages. Real key there is to get some internal linking within the site to your page & that's how you'll mine the authority you want out of it. Most web 2.0 sites have that ability if you get creative. Saw a webinar awhile back which helped me get more mileage out of my 2.0s at which you may find useful as well
