    First.. As a long time reader do you know how many times people state.. 100% unique content and such... Without knowing much about your site....

    I am going with manual penalty, just based on what I have read you seem to have a poorly run site which has had people actually look at it. The old, sure we will reinstate you and here is a penalty as a going away prize.

      So you're saying they would reinstate but apply a different penalty? (your view)

      This being said, the reason I waited so long is I thought it was a algo penalty and didn't want extra attention to my website (who does right?).

    Sounds like a manual penalty to me and i would go back to the basics for both Panda and Penguin and start your recovery process.

      My issue is if it's algo, this reconsideration would open me up for a lot of scrutiny , and I'm not sure if that's a positive thing. The information out there is so variable and bias that I'm not sure what to believe. Some say file, some say when you file G might slap you with another penalty, so not sure what to believe now.

        If there's no manual penalty, their system will auto-reply that there's none. And so, no scrutiny for you.

        If there IS a manual action in place, they've already looked at your site. No use trying to hide now. Plus, the reconsideration request is the only way to get it lifted.

          This is the first time I heard of this, I had no idea Google Auto-Replies if there is no manual penalty; no offense meant, but are you sure? :confused:

            Yeah I'm sure. There's a recent webmaster video that reaffirmed it. Check their Youtube channel.

            They don't have the resources to look at every RR sent in. So they focus only the cases where manual actions have been taken. The rest get automated replies saying there's "no manual action, but other algorithmic issues may be in play".

    I am saying you already got them looking at your site when you asked for a re-instatement dealing with the Google stuff. You clearly have them looking at your site and therefore this is probably a manual penalty
