Which of these EMDs should I choose?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this internet marketing thing, so please bear with me. I have a particular niche I want to target, and I have a few choices with the domains. Two popular keyword searches in this niche are, "Blank Training," and "Blank Course."

My choice for domains is pretty straight forward. I can choose:

1.) blanktraining.com
2.) blankcourse.com
3.) blanktrainingcourse.com

If I choose option number 3, will that rank strongly from an SEO perspective for keyword searches on options 1 and 2?

Thanks and take care,
Michael

From the SEO perspective, the best choice would be blank-training-course.com.

According to updates of google panda low rated sites are not crawled for a keyword that match the domain name. But do best seo and increase your search engine ranking....

        Thank you for your replies.

From my understanding, an exact match will always be better than a match that is polluted with hyphens or fillers (such as iwebsite, mywebsite, websitehq, etc).

My question, however, is whether or not blanktrainingcourse.com will rank well for both keyword searches: Blank Training, and Blank Course?

Or, would I be better off targeting one over the other? I would hate to be overambitious and lose rankings for both keywords.

        Take care.

Makes no real difference in terms of SEO as to which one you choose.

Personally I'd go for 1 or 2, as they are shorter.

So this surprises me. Why would you choose options 1 and 2 over option 3, which essentially combines them both?

Shorter, keyword-rich domains are always good, SEO-wise and user-wise. So i would go for #1 and #2.

And I must also agree, you don't have to worry much about your domain name. The 3 choices you provided are all okay. The more important thing is to provide quality and good content to your website if you want to increase your ranking.

    Good luck!

I would choose no. 3? You can target the 2 keywords that you have. Ofcourse, many will tell you here that don't use EMDs domain because of the emd updates!! Don't follow them, all of the EMds website that were affected are just low quality sites. So, I advice that make your site quality as possible to avoid those penalization

    Regards,

    Ronnie

Affilorama-portal, Merden, and Ronnieavelino: Thank you for your comments.

This is my first niche site, so I just want to make the best decision possible. If you couldn't already tell by my previous replies, I was kind of leaning towards option 3 already. I will probably wait just a bit longer before I grab the domain.

Does anyone have any arguments for or against option 3?

So far, I've heard that options 1 or 2 are more keyword rich and easier to remember.but option 3 targets both keywords that I'm going for.

[For those that are just joining the convo, option 1) is blanktraining.com. 2) blankcourse.com. 3) blanktrainingcourse.com]
