What about using the free .tk and .co.cc TLDs for SEO purposes

Some SEO masters suggest in ebooks or WSOs to use .tk or .co.cc free domain TLDs to set-up minisites on free hosts (for IP servers diversification) and to link them to blogs or other minisites pointing to moneysites. All this to increase the juice to the money sites and other SEO motivations.

I am not discussing the value of these methods in this thread. Valid or not is not the point.

My concern is about the weight that Google, Yahoo and Bing gives to these .tk and .co.cc TLDs in the SERPS. I have occasionally seen some hit page 1 but they might be too few quality sites to easily find them especially in niches.

What do the SEO experts know about the SE rating these free TLDs?

Is it worth our time to build them?

Thanks for your input.

IMO, these kind of backlinks and domains can't help your ranking. I think Google and other search engines don't care a lot about these domains. Its only my opinion.

    What year was this?

Last time I checked they were all still deindexed! If Google chose to deindex these extensions then your answer lies there with regard to their value!

Last time was a few minutes ago.

Just try this in google search box "site:dot.tk" you will see quite a few pages with PR5

Another query "site:.tk" returns 50M pages with a number of sites level 1 and 2 on page 1 of the results.

A third query "With each subscription of 60 or 100 euros you get for free fix match" will return three pages for the site www goldtipsever tk so some are obviously indexed

Contrary to the above post, . tk is the kiss of death.

That is, for normal people like you and me.

I can find a plethora of porn, hacking, illegal, al queda,
scams, cons, and scheming websites.....so what? Would
I ever want to be associated with them in regards to
my online endeavors? Do I even need to stop and think
        about my answer?

Domains and hosting are so dirt cheap today, I can't even
imagine why in 2012 that this would be an option for
        anyone.

          Paul,

Maybe there are some endeavors or niches but nothing like porn, hacking, illegal , scam, con etc that I do not want to see associated with my regular sites on my own server.

Maybe on the same server as my own account at HG there already are the same kind of above sites. I've found some with a reverse IP.

Maybe if you hire a VA s/he can create lots of domains on many free hosts without a credit card and link all these sites to your affiliate ops websites and this can offer a cheap way to build links.

Also I constantly see newcomers here with very limited means who try to enter the internet and asking for help to get started.

            Okay, say this very loud:

There is no reason to use a .tk or .co.cc. Period.

If you want a free site that kicks butt, use blogger.

Blogspot is SEO'd right out of the box and it's google's
baby. You can't get any better'n that for free. In fact,
you can even buy a cheap domain, and still use blogger!

If you are still thinking about a .tk or .co.cc, you're nuts.

Are you wanting to build lots and lots of sites where the domain cost would add up significantly? Otherwise I'd go with com/net/org because of the de-indexing. There will always be exceptions to the rule like you mentioned but I'd focus those 3.

I have never seen an "SEO master" suggest using .tk or .co.cc. Of course, I have never seen an "SEO master" selling an ebook in the WSO section either...
