Posting same article in two different blogs?

There's no point publishing the same article on more than 1 site. Google determines which one is the original source, and gives that one better rankings. The "duplicate" article will never be found, typically.

I think its useless because one of the versions will be determined as original for Google and all others are duplicated contents and Google doesn't like and rank them IMO.

You can do it with no problem. That's not the duplicate
content people really should be talking about when
referring to penalties.

I see no real reason to do the same article on multiple
blogs that I own, however. I do link back and forth, sometimes with
teasers.

Google does not hate duplicate content across the web.

If the logic of your questions held, then there would be no
reason to even think about 10 days, right? Duplicate content
is still duplicate content after 10 days...You can't have it
both ways.

I also believe that--on such a small scale--Google won't care about seeing the post once or twice. The thought behind doing this is to build up the content at both places, so long as I'm writing for one place.

Essentially, I'm already stepping up my blogging frequency to match what's recommended by the Empower Network folks (How To Start Earning 100% Commissions Today | Matthew Schoenherr's Empower Network Blog) and am wanting to dual-purpose some of those blog posts for my other blogs on marketing ideas and SEO.

I can see how the regular blogging can help to build gravity for the website; I'm just wanting to make sure I poll other SEO-savvy folks to get their thoughts on whether this is a sound practice or whether I'll just be shooting myself in the foot over time.

Obviously, there should be SOME difference between the two blog sites, so every post will not be duplicated, but there IS some overlap and I'm wanting to bring value to both places.

Why don't you rewrite the article and then you will have two unique articles to post on two different sites. And I don't mean rewriting as in spinning, I mean a true rewrite, perhaps even covering the same topic from two different angles.

I have been doing this for a while and believe it or not, if you do the on page seo right, you can get both pages rank for the targeted keyword of the article.

I have a few dozen first page rankings for the same keywords with two different sites. Now granted this also depends on your keyword.

I know this seems time consuming, but believe me, once you get the hang of it, you can rewrite an average article in 10 minutes or so.

I mean think about it, you have already done the research when you were writing the first one, you have all the facts and information you need, you just have to present them in a slightly different ways. Of course, you don't have to do it that way, you can simply rewrite word by word, but I prefer to give it a different angle, which I think helps in captivating a different kind of audience.

Good idea! I lol'd when you said, "I know this seems time consuming" because right about that time I was thinking, "Sigh.. this is good, but it sounds time-consuming.."

I like the notion of keeping such a rewrite simple, however. You're right; it doesn't have to be a complete overhaul of the original blog post, but it can be reordered and rephrased to offer similar content, but in a different way. Feels like a step above spinning still, but involving more care.

Or, you can rewrite those articles and add some ideas. Something like the one has more idea than the other. Something like a sequel of articles. You will discuss something on the first one and then stop. Continue it to the other one. Just leave a link to the first article going to the second.

If done right, you will not only get 2 unique articles, you surely catch your reader's attention as well.
