I guess it would update in the next couple of days, dont anticipate too much Google may blast a new panda update. Check your PR online if you are not sure with your PR tool bar

There is no guarantee of that. They do not update PR at set intervals. Some years there have only been 2 or 3 updates. Other years there have been 4.

My page rank is still the same but I noticed that the keywords are suddenly dropping from Page 1 to page 3. Well, I have checked some reputable blogs like Search engine land but according to them it will start around middle of November.

PR isnt that important. When you think about it, it only relates to your overall domain anyway. I think whats more important is looking at your PR of deep pages. In addition to that id say page authority is more important than overall page rank.

Well, any PR is important. The better PR you have, more sites will try to link to your site. And perhaps that increases the link juice. People try to build links from higher PR websites all the time. There are numerous threads on WF which give you a free list of high PR sites.

So any Google update on PR is welcome!

Last page rank update is on 2nd August,its exactly like 3 months till yesturday...Google updates page rank for every 3 months....I hope we will get page rank update by 5 th November.

Relatively new website and PageRank updated on my blog page to PR1 but not the homepage just yet. I have a feeling it will go through my website piece by piece, page by page over the next couple of days and I may see some movement on the homepage shortly.

PS All of the haters and Negative Nancy's out there, PR is a good visual indicator of the amount of links and quality of links that you have built and what Google thinks of them. It also helps your website get indexed faster, period. The higher the pagerank, the more credible your website is according to Google and therefore you get index faster. Google doesn't index the crap at the bottom of the barrel so therefore, higher PR, faster indexing, better for general SEO and fast traffic.

EG:
seomoz.org - PR6 - Indexed almost instantaneously.
someblog.com - PR0 - Wait a few days or even weeks.

In conclusion, to all of the haters, suck it up princesses....Just because Google tells us not to obsess over it, doesn't mean that it doesn't have any relevance or do anything to help your website perform in Google. It just means that its only one factor within the thousands that Google will use to rank, index or punish your website.

Listen to you mother when she says..."if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all!"

I started new sites just a month ago, today I noticed a Google Page rank of 2. Looks Good to me.I am not sure how long google takes to update the page rank but looks to me I am able to get to PR2 in 30 days only.

I've seen this with new sites. I've had one in less than a month go to PR4 and stayed that way for a few updates, eventually it gets knocked down for a host of reasons. Again, between traffic and PR, I'll take traffic. The PR4 site after dropping still got nice organic numbers

I think you are getting it a little bit wrong. It is the backlinks that determine the ranking and pr. But the update in the tool is just a current indicator of what it is now.
In other words, your rankings could have been updated already even 2 months ago, it is just only now you see the pr. So there is no need to lean for analytics, unless it is the historical data that you want to draw parallels with.

My site got bumped down. Good thing PR doesn't affect traffic, because I'm at all time highs with traffic.

Sudeep, there are no benefits unless you are selling your site or selling backlinks.

Traffic is what matters... PR is for webmaster's egos.
How many of your visitors do you think have that little green bar in their toolbar? And if they do, how many do you think know what it is?
