What Should I do about my existing SEO to New Domain

I've done SEO on an existing website but I want to transfer the site to a new domain..When Google goes to my existing site and I redirect it, will it hurt my site since it goes to a different domain now?..What should I do. If I just make a duplicated site on a different domain, won't it hurt the site as well?

How about if register the new domain but redirect it to my existing, will content on the existing site benefit the new domain?..I don't know if google uses the content on redirected sites...

    go to google support forum...you will get correct direction/information....and must use your GWT so that google knows about your new domain and redirection.....
    you need to do it correctly otherwise you are gonna get into trouble.....

    just go to google support forum....read old threads you will get all necessary information....

    No, Don't duplicate the content.Just move all of your content to new domain and redirect (using 301) old domain to new domain. That's it.

    P.S. Use only and only 301 redirection

    It will temporarily hurt your ranking if you will transfer or redirect your old website to new domain. You can use the 301 redirection. Also back up all your files and use backup buddy.
