Which top 5 web 2.0 properties are your favorites? How do you use them? (I mean do you reuse your content, do you create new content, how many backlinks do you insert..?)

Thx for the answers

you mention squidoo, but links are nofollow, unless you have enough points, is it worth the effort?

DoFollow and NoFollow links both help serp improvement. Nofollow simply does not pass page rank but it still passes relevancy which is the name of the game anyways.

Who said that you cannot get a dofollow link from Squidoo?? still possible
You know how? by adding RELEVANT links using LINK LIST module on Squidoo - it is possible, still such links are DOFOLLOW, people hardly notice this....

    Like List
    - Tumblr (Much to do with Tumblr if you know what to do. It is particularly useful in some niches that interest young people)
    - Squidoo (helpful community and clear rules. If your lense doesn't meet the criteria you can't publish it, but if it is a good lense and you publish it, they don't go crazy on you like HubPages--> see my notes on the dislike list)
    - Wordpress
    - Weebly
    - Posterous

    Dislike List
    - HubPages (They are crazy. One day you wake up and they have closed your 4 years account for no reason, they don't give you any explanation and don't give you back your account)
    - BlogSpot, Blogger (Good platform but I don't go anything Googly when it comes to SEO.)

    It varies between markets.

Go to google, type in a search term for your niche, and see which Web 2.0 properties pop up the most. Then focus on those ones.

Of course, you should be measuring your metrics when leveraging traffic channels, but *sigh... most people dont bother.

Just a tip any high PR web 2.0 which publish your content on their sub directory will be best choice.

I like to test and see which 3 are pulling the most. But on most occasions it comes down to content and SEO which we all know is key anyway.

Squidoo seems to be the best, but I also like weebly and blogger blog.

But again I believe it does not come down to the actual web 2.0 it comes down to how good your content is and whatever you everything else will complement that.

If you want to rank web properties quickly and drive traffic to your Money Sites, then I would suggest using authority "ParaSites".

What I have been finding out after Penguin 2.0, is that "authority sites" are now ranking even more quickly than they did before. Therefore, if you use these authority sites as "ParaSites", they can drive traffic to your "Money Site" for your targeted keywords in a fairly sort period of time.

I actually started to study this pre-Penguin 2.0, and have continued to do so post-Penguin 2.0.

I have seen the best results with the following ParaSites:

    1. YouTube
    2. Amazon (ebooks)
    3. Askville.Amazon.com (Similar to Yahoo Answers)
    4. Facebook Pages
    5. Squidoo (Work well but have cracked down and have started banning accounts)
    6. Meetup.com ($12/month) The group page ranks very easily
    7. LinkedIn (The Company Profile Page)
    8. Twitter Profile
    9. Tumblr (May be able to pull in RSS feeds)
    10. Myspace Account
    11. Blogspot
    12. BBB.org (This is an authority for Google+ Local Business Pages)
    13. Dailymotion.com (Video site that is less strict than YouTube)
    14. Metacafe.com (Video site that is less strict than YouTube)
    15. Pinterest Profile (Rank Really Well)
    16. Yahoo Answers (You can ask the question yourself, and then write the answer yourself)
    17. Itunes Stores
    18. Google+ Accounts
    19. EvenBrite.com (Similar to Meetup.com)
    20. Craigslist.org (Can rank well for local listings. Downside is that they can be flagged and they expire. Good for short-term rankings)
    21. Ireport.cnn.com (Can create an account as a reporter. Really easy to rank these pages)
    22. Press Releases (These are possibly the best ParaSites, besides YouTube.)
    23. Blog.co.uk (High authority site for the UK market)

It does require some work to set this up, but the return is worth it. Also, the backlinks that these authority sites provide to your Money Site are extremely powerful, which will help your website in the SERPs.

*Just remember that in order to rank these ParaSites quickly, you need to build links to them.
