Help Making Sense of SERP Positions
- SEO |
I have a basic grasp of SEO and what causes pages to rank higher than others: backlinks, authority, keyword density, content, etc.
However, I just can't wrap my head around the SERP for the keyword "cpr manikins." Most of the time, the aha.channing-bete.com page is number 3.
If you look at the page though, NOWHERE (aside from the meta keywords, which aren't a ranking factor anymore, right?) does the term "cpr manikins" show. This baffles me, because the term seems like a pretty competitive keyword with plenty of listings not only with the actual term in their content, title, description, and meta, but with just as much -- if not more -- content on the subject.
Looking through SEOMoz, the site has a high page/domain authority, but is that really the only thing that's causing it to rank? I need some help rationalizing what's going on and what we need to do to rank above them.
Thanks for the help!
