Hi everyone, just 'giving back' to the forum.

See pic below and the video for further tutorial!

It is simple to get your review site (or for offline consultants, your local business clients - geo-targeted keyword rich domain)

Here is how I have done one as an example for you to learn from:

1. Set up a keyword rich domain - "affiliateproductnamereview.com

if that is taken - then add reviews for instance.

NOte -same can be applied for a local business e.g "yourcitypersonaltrainer.com

2. Put a wp blog on it with seo plugins (headspace, xml sitemap, all in one seo plug in)

3. Change permalink structure to 'custom' and input "/%postname%/%post_id%/ "

4. Add 3 or so keyword rich posts - see my video below

5. Get it indexed in Google ASAP - Submit new website to Google adwords - see vid below

6. HUGE AUTHORITY Backlink: Submit webwire press release with your keyword in the title and description, with links back to your review site

7. I also use other warrior 'tools' - big mikes rssbot to submit to rss feed directories and Angela's backlink package to get more quality backlinks

Here is the "How To" Video:

Enjoy and Start Making Money! Maria

To address Andyhenry - no this isn't misleading - why not 'try' these steps out first before saying that type of comment....

How about another image - google search results: Results 1 - 10 of about 383,000

#cash cow workshops #google #page #review #site

So how much money has this made you?

Looks like in the picture you've chosen a keyword phrase that gets no searches and no-one else is optimised for - so of course you'll get the top spot - but still won't make any money.

You're actually the only person on the internet optimised for those terms.

This is very misleading for people starting out that don't know any better.

The problem isn't getting to page 1 of google, it's getting to page 1 for key phrases that people search for, which genereally means more competition. For example the phrase in your example, cash cow workshops review shows 40,000 searches withotu quotes and only 500 with quotes, which makes it a very easy key phrase to rank for. Now, does it bring traffic? If it does than you've found a great key word.

It's a nice illustration of how the process works. However getting to page 1 for highly competitive key words is much more difficult.

Thanks J smith - yes - for a competive keyword - no doubt - for me to dominate page 1 against highly competive (as I do ) keyword competing with PR4, 5, 6, 'authority' sites..

takes a lot longer and thousands of dollars per month in backlinks, content, buying aged PR 5,6,7, websites and domains, etc. before you see results 6 months PLUS later...

      The point of this example:

Take a product 'just released' that is riding a trend and be the first to go after it...

Yes - you won't get a ton of traffic but the traffic you get is ultra targeted who are interested in buying and looking for a bonus or a review to buy it...

So for spending about 2 hours of your time to set it up - the money factor is ...is it worth it? Depends on the conversion rate of the products sales page and the affiliate fee.
      make sense?

Thank you Maria for this post.

This is good advice for anyone that wants to set up their own review sites or local business sites.

I want to address Andy's comment as well:
Just like you Andy I always question SEO results like this where the demand seems low and the competition is low or non-existant. But that's because I want to see people on page 1 of Google for weight loss or some other very competetive term before I believe in their SEO skills.
The thing is that while it is great being no. 1 for a very broad term like "weight loss", it's probably even better to be no. 1 for very specific search terms like "weight loss diets" or "weight loss supplements" just because they convert much better in the end.

Andy - when a new product comes out - you simply add 'review' to a domain and can dominate first.

    so here is the strategy:

    1. join a jv alert type of site -

    2. so before the name of the product is known by ALL the world - you jump on it first.

OR for any site this methodolgy works...

Here is one more Proof for ya Andy:

    search google for:

    bulk real estate portfolios

google search results: Results 1 - 10 of about 383,000

How much money that has made me - think about what commission you get when one buys $1,000,000 or more real estate...

    Just food for thought!

there is such a thing as a 'targeted lead' - qualify them more - I don't need 5,000 people to that site per day, per month, etc,

If I only get 10 solid leads per week (which I do) ..doesn't sound like much...then follow up - ala automated marketing system...then collect 1-3% commission on a large deal over $1M ...

I'd take that anyday over 50,000 visitors per month not targeted...

Sorry, but I had to comment here, too.

Reference your local mall merchants. What do you think they want - a mall filled to capacity with teenagers (maybe 1,000), hanging out, talking, laughing, looking, and basically "window shopping" (for the uninitiated they're not shopping for windows <GRIN>) - or about 50 or 100 families (or even 10 families) that are looking for specific things (back to school clothes, a suit for Dad, a dress for Mom, shoes for the children, a class ring for the graduate of the family, etc.) Think of which one makes them more money. Of course, the family - except for the food court vendors because the teens can and will spend money on food and drink.

In IM, we talk traffic, traffic, traffic, but many times we forget about the targeted traffic that we really want. Yes, we'd all love to see a million hits for last month on our site, but if NONE of those convert to sales, what have we gained - we're actually in the hole when you consider hosting costs.

But, if we had only one visitor that was extremely interested in our product - imagine that they actually searched for our product. Then, when they got to our site, they stand a much better chance of turning into a buyer. If by some magic they actually buy, then we're ahead. If we get two of those, then we are ON THE WAY to profits.

Traffic is great and if you have tons of traffic, statistically you should make some sales and make some money. But, you can increase the statistics by making sure that your traffic is even remotely interested in what you're offering.

        Hope this all makes sense.

With the Mall analogy, it's good to remember that the merchants would also like to see the mall full to capacity all the time it is open. You're right that they want buyers, not just window shoppers, but a vibrant busy mall is more likely to attract potential buyers.

It's the same with a website, especially a blog or forum. If your website looks as busy as a general store in a hick town on the edge of a swamp -- cue the dueling banjos -- it's not going to fill visitors with confidence.

A blog or forum with lots of conversation and comments on the other hand presents a more successful impression and may be more likely to attract buyers, even if the majority of users on the site are "window shoppers".

In the local mall, it can be toooooo crowded though. Just ask any family that has decided to either shop elsewhere or come back later (but never made it back) when it's packed to the gills. Many people don't prefer the overly crowded malls. Personally, I don't go to malls unless it's absolutely necessary, but many of my friends refuse to go if it's crowded.

Web sites, in a similar manner, if not hosted properly, can be too crowded. Many of the cheapie hosting services (oh, boy, I've opened the floodgates now) host your site on only a single server (unless you pay extra for hosting on multiple servers), so they can also get too crowded. Even with the best of hosting, this can happen. Reference Mike Filsaime's recent Butterfly 2.0 release. His servers were slammed and you couldn't even get on to order until late in the day. I had scheduled time to be at home when the proverbial doors opened and even left a window so I would have time to get it. By the time they got their problems corrected, I had somewhere I was scheduled to be. Since then, I've still not ordered my copy - and it's FREE as long as I pay S&H. By now, I'm kind of "out of the mood" even for a free item. Glad I didn't get it anyway, even though I might be able to use some of the stuff with my offline marketing because that left the $$$ free to get Maria's WSO this week. Thanks Maria.

Oh, and Maria makes one more very important point.

If the deal is big enough, all you need is ONE targeted visitor and it's all worthwhile. Run the numbers:

        1% on $1 Million $10,000
        3% on $1 Million $30,000

        Not a bad days work.

I take Marias post for the main point that if you jump on the right opportunities when something is new and fresh, you have your positioning done when it does become more searched.

You may be right, that right now, Cash Cow Workshops are not a highly searched term, but it doesn't mean it will not become more searched as awareness of the product and it's value grows. Or perhaps for the person that is searching and ready to buy, she is already in the top spot for that click.

Let me say it - even it no one else has said it -

    THIS WORKS!!!!!

I've seen it demonstrated. We did it Monday morning when meeting with another marketer in the area - just simply say "It works"..........

You will almost always rank #1 for your domain name when someone searches for the keywords that are in your domain name.

From reading some of the posts, I think that most people are thinking of online marketing for online opportunities. Expand your thinking for a moment.

Buy a domain - www.<yourcity><niche>.com. Then that site will rank #1 once you get it set up. Use that site to link to all your offline business customers. A good example is Chiropractors. If you lived in Philidelphia, register philadelphiachiropractor.com (add "s" if needed, "review" if needed, "find" in front of it if needed, whatever you can come up with creatively to make it work. Your site will almost always rank high. Use that site to link visitors to YOUR clients. Use that as an extra added "hook" for added value to your clients.

    Hope this makes sense.

You are correct Maria...outsourcing is definitely the key - whether it's to the Phillipines, to some homeschoolers in your area, or some college student willing to do it for a small fee. Our time is far too valuable as marketers and business owners to spend it doing other tasks that are (as Jeff Dedrick stated a few weeks back) $20 work. I better quit right now because I can get on a virtual "soap box" about how we spend our time - and I'm as guilty as the next person about wasting that precious commodity.

I used to teach business owners several courses (live presentations) about just that thing - working ON their business and not IN their business. A big part of that was finding someone else to do the day to day parts of the business which frees the owner/marketer up to do the critical thinking and planning to expand the business. Many times business owners miss very profitable opportunities for growth because they're busy IN the business. That's what separates the true entrepreneur from an employee that owns a business.

Sorry, gotta quit before I continue to write.

Don't get too tied up with what keywords are used in the examples from Maria. If you can dominate the first page of Google SERPs (all 10 results - organic search AND paid search) for your targeted keyword phrases, it's total domination.

It works and it does not matter whether there are many search results for those keywords or not. They could be long tail keywords AND high converting. Add them all up and you make significantly more money!
