GOOGLE Page Rank Updates

Google just updated its Page Rank ratings. Some of my sites improved page rank, but my main site lost Page Rank even though I worked hard on its SEO.

Any Ideas why would Page Rank dropped?

  • What do you mean "worked hard on its SEO" . Its possible that your hard work was put in wrong direction. What exactly did you do ?

      least have the knowledge to call it what it is: PageRank

  • Yes - there's only 2 reasons.

    1 - Some of the links you had are no longer live.

    2 - Some of the links you had were low quality and Google reduced their value.

    • Well you could have worked hard and got backlinks from a bunch of PR 0 sites/links are no longer live/ you didnt do good SEO..
    • Yes, I checked my old links and they did dropped and they were low quality links as well.

    • 3 - (the latest one) you allowed junk or paid links on your site, signalling
      to google that you are allowing link spam or selling links for PR.

      I don't think many people know about #3. Think about that as you continue to
      post comment spam and allow it.

  • I noticed that google did update their PR today, my new site went from n/a to 1 in 1 month which is good news.

    Question: My PR went up but i'm still in the same position for my primary keyword?? whats going on?

    • The PR increase will not increase of effect the ranking directly. in fact, PR went up is just a toolbar update by google, so maybe the 'real' PR already went up before, which we never know.

      as you know, the rankings is affected by many parameters (about 200+), and PR is just one of it. Hope this help
  • Yes, my domains PR also increased from 0 to 1. But one of my domain had PR 3 it has now reduced to PR 1.

    • I would say here that every update of Google is good for some people and bad for some too. But this time it is neutral for me as I did not get any advantage or disadvantage on my websites.
  • our sites did good. We're especially ecstatic with the properties we've built the past 6 months. Im definitely more interested in other metrics outside PR coz I know pagerank isnt as big a deal like before but it's still a good thing to see
  • All the pages on my site are still going strong with their PR4-5 despite being left alone for more than 6 months already

    I'm now thinking of selling links on them! Haha
