Google Paid Ads Dominate Space "Above The Fold"

Been doing some searches on Google today and noticed how a lot of paid Adwords listings are taking up nearly the entire area above the fold. The first 2 organic search results appear near the bottom of the screen.

I wonder how long it will take until the entire area above the fold consists of paid adverts?

This has been the trend for a while. They figure they've got the market and they'll do whatever they want

Yeah, and at the same time they want to penalize sites for doing the same thing

    From SEOMoz:

    Page Layout #2 -- October 9, 2012
"Google announced an update to its original page layout algorithm change back in January, which targeted pages with too many ads above the fold. It's unclear whether this was an algorithm change or a Panda-style data refresh."

Ha ha, my monitor is large enough... at least it's large enough to see what Google is doing!

or you can use adblock addon, don't know if it works since I don't use it, but it probably works fine.

Actually this might be a good thing, if you look at it from a different perpective..
if you are doing PPC this is a great thing

I didn't look at it that way, but true, if you are doing Adwords PPC, then having more ads appearing above the fold would certainly be a "great thing."

That's right..that's my philosphy..allways try to make "disadventages" to work for your adventage.. beat them with their own weapon

Well, gee, of course they dominate. That's how google
          makes their money...they are a multi-billion dollar
          business last time I checked.

I have said the same thing, many times while watching TV,
all those pesky commercials...why can't they just let
us watch the dang show? It's getting so TV shows are just
          so full of commercials...

It's all about algorithms....what does google think you want to
do with a search like rotary phase converter...read some blog
post, forum spam, or perhaps....buy one?

I can't but end this with the fact that people continue to misquote
google on above the fold...over and over and over...until the
          masses just believe it.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

I have a very simple exact match domain that is #1 in Google. I use a 20 inch monitor at work and you can just see it at the bottom of the screen. Google has finally taken over the web.

Oh yeah for those of you that don't think exact match domains will still rank, I have gone from 4th position to 1st since the recent Google update. It is not the domain it is the website.

When you dominate search-more than 60 percent, and make 2 billion in revenue per month you can do whatever you want.

True Dat! With Google it's "do as we say" not "do as we do."
