Is Artisteer bad for SEO/Marketing?

Hey guys,
I'm using Artisteer 4 to build my Wordpress theme for my Wordpress site. When my site is done I plan to hire some SEO/marketing people from this forum. I was wondering if i'm building a bad foundation by using an Artisteer Wordpress theme?

    Never heard about this. Infact theme provider doesn't matter a lot as long as theme is clean coded

    As long as you get the basics right, I dont think the actual theme made by artister is going to make much of a difference.

    I mean, people rank websites with themes made in many different ways, with many different platforms and so on.

    I dont think Google would care if you build your theme with artister or you just downloaded a free one from some site (again as long as the basics are there).

    Artisteer is horrible, it generates bloated code for the themes.

    Assuming Artisteer 4 really does have bloated code, is this really a factor for Google and how big of a factor is it?

      If your pages take a long time to load, that's not a good thing for SEO, let alone traffic.

      Only Google knows, no one else does. Fact is I have artisteer sites that rank #1 on Google and then I have artisteer sites that rank in the oblivion....

    I tried some times back and got irritated with their limitations...but don't know they fix them or not. To me..I wont definitely recommend.

    Thats the worst thing you could have done. As Yukon states,it generates rubish code,WP updates might make your theme look more f'up,and to fix these issues you will spend much more time. Time is money,this is a big no no

    Jesus....DIRECT CONTRADICTIONS on why or why not use this program.

    1. Anyone have the reason Artisteer sites would be bad?
    2. If the program generates EXRA code, where is it and can it be deleted at a later date?
    Anyone?

      2 guys saying they have high rank with google, I'd say try and find out. Worst case, you'll have to upload a new template and reassign modules, menus etc. I used artisteer for a commerce site that I had. It loaded quickly... Pre panda and penguin days.

    No, creating WP themes with artisteer will (in all likelihood) not hurt your rankings. In fact I had two of my best ranking sites in the past where I had custom themes I made myself with artisteer.

    In the theoretical scenario that a WP theme is not "SEO optimized", as some theme sellers claim, you can have the same functionality with any common SEO plugin like WP SEO by Yoast which will then add all the so called "SEO features" premium themes like thesis etc. have. I really do not think that the underlying code/theme of a WP site affects ranking significantly, if at all.

    Artisteer, IMO, is pretty good to make custom themes although MANY who use it don't use it to its full extent. Many "artisteer made" themes look kind of the same, but they don't have to. You can make really cool themes which are not immediately looking like "someone spent 10mins making a theme with artisteer".

      You are right about it. I never really liked the software much. It does not offer much customization anyways.

    Artisteer is great .... I have many themes with no problems.

    As far as site loading speeds are concerned, this can depend on many factors, ie. images, links and of course plugins ...
