Is it possible to buy a domain, rank it without paying for hosting only for the purposes of selling of the domain. Also, how would I rank it #1 google without having hosting to the site. Is it possible?

  • To rank, you have to expose your site and content to SEs' bots.
The only way to do it is to park your domain with Sedo and likes.
But, there's virtually no hope of ranking for anything, unless the domain name is a long and very specific k'word phrase.
    Even then, highly doubtful.
  • Google will not rank parked domains.
To get good rank you need to have a good website.

But you dont need to rank your domain to sell it. I sold more than 1000 domains and none of them was ranked.
  • I think for low competition kw, it's possible to rank the parked only domains, but the terms will need to be highly relevant for the kw
  • I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that Google has a special algorithm that prevent parked pages from being ranked
  • nope nope nope, google wants content and it wants it all the time.

    • Yes exactly,

And in other words, Google is not like flippa or other domain and website selling platforms.
  • Not gonna happen. You need a live domain
  • Yes, It's possible.

Blogger offers two free publishing options for your blog: hosting on Blogspot (example.blogspot.com) and hosting on your own custom domain (example.com or foo.example.com). You can change your publishing option at any time.
