I don't agree!!! You should pay attention to quality, not quantity. I can boost your rankings with about 5-10 QUALITY backlinks from HIGH-authority DOFOLLOW social bookmarking sites and they will be MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE than 1000 normal backlinks from common social bookmarking sites!

Maybe Social bookmarks are not enough to rank a site/ page. You need to diversity backlink types such as social media, forums, article directories, press release, web 2.0 properties and more.

You need to target only high pr (PR5 or more) social bookmarking sites, they pass higher link juice to your site rather than PR2 ones.

Hi there
In order to have good ranking bookmark each of your new post, blog or article up to 30 dofollow bookmark sites.
Or may be you can go for 40.
Plus you must do some web 2.0 and some blog commenting links as well.
30 to 50 bookmark for one link will be quite enough in my view. Just re-bookmark your links in google plus page after 2 or 3 days. It is a very successive practice.

  Its not necessary to bookmark, however it depends on the keywords you're targeting. For example, if you did a competitive analysis and found out that your competitors are ranking for keywords with 1000 backlinks from social bookmarking sites, you might want to consider doing this.

Short answer: As many as possible from as many people possible. There is no EXACT amount that you need to rank, the more the better, regardless of niche (and don't spam with tools like senuke or serobot).

Do posting on daily basis and 30 Social Book Marks daily is good.There is no specific limit of doing book marks.

Whatever you are reading is wrong. Social bookmarking can help to speed up indexing, but that is about it. It will only rank you in the absolute weakest of search terms.

Lol... Neither one passes on squat. Either way, your bookmark is on a PR n/a or PR 0 page. If it is a popular bookmarking site, it is one of millions of pages, so no matter how high the PR of the root domain is, it is not passing on anything more than a minute, insignificant amount of link juice.

Mike is hiding the facts. Some guru that had an SEO weapon that consisted of dangerous warheads like 50 high PR forum profiles and 391 wiki links and who talked about complex secrets of SEO like link diversity told me that bookmarks are the best way to get link juice and get ranked fast. They also provide very good link diveristy.

How longs a piece of string......?

I find that the more social bookmarks I do, the better the traffic I recieve in return. I don't sit down and blast a single post or page to my social bookmark list, i split it up -do a couple a day per article.

It won't harm your site it can only do better dependant on how low pr the sites are and how many social bookmarks you create. I have found no point in using bookmark tools - I do it all naturally.

Really broad question. No one can tell you how many are necessary to rank. It depends on the keyword-competition of that keyword. If, for example, you are trying to rank for a keyword with little traffic and your top competitor has 20 backlinks from terrible websites then you could rank tomorrow.

You need to look at your competition and see how hard it is to rank for the keyword you want to hit before you ask these questions.

Bookmarking have no limit but if we post our link on PR site than we can get benifit than other bookmarking site. Becoz a PR site cache fast than N/A site. Also do some other SEO activites for get ranking.

If I want to rank my blog on search engines , I would not only bookmark my site or posts on bookmarking sites but I would go and comment on other blogs and make relationships with those bloggers with high PR , and nicely ask them for a link to my blog.

I said before, you need to build links naturally, only using social bookmarking wouldn't work, few social bookmarking, directory submission, blog commenting, guest posting these would work if you are doing regularly.

I don't think it will affect any on your website.Only need to post your website on quality bookmarking sites.Also social bookmarking is very much effective for traffic because there are very less websites which provides do follow backlinks.
