How come some of my website's pages are 1 and some are 0 or n/a

My website, Original Press Releases just became a page rank 2. But some of the pages are a page rank 1 and some of them are 0 or n/a. There are even a couple pages that are a page rank 2.

I'm thinking the pages with high page ranks have more links.

Is there something else I don't know about that's affecting my website's pages rankings?

I'm using the SEO Quake add-on for Chrome.

  • Ricoramiro,

PageRank is assigned on a page by page basis and not to a website as a whole. Some of your pages have higher page rank because they are linked to more often than other pages. For many websites, the home page is typically the one with the highest PR because the home page is usually the most linked to on any site.

Page ranking basically includes links to your site, such as number of links, quality of links, authority of links, pagerank of links, and others. So these factors could be the reasons why your page rankings go that way or not consistent on your other pages. These include the number of the backlinks, quality of the backlinks, number of OBL (Out Bound Links) from your site, number of other pages the site linking to your site links, and site design and structure.

You might as well consider the following ways to icncrease pagerank:

    Building high quality links.
    Building a link wheel.
    Interlinking your site pages.
Reduce the number of external pages you are linking to.
    No-follow external links
Have a crystal clear site structure.
    Social Media sharing.
Try building natural (at least natural-looking) backlinks.

Don't worry about the page rank.It would be best If you can focus yourself on ranking for your keywords instead of page rank.

Thanks for all the great advice. I kinda figured it was the number of links pointing to each page.

The funny thing is my site didn't become a page rank 2 until a couple weeks after I started interlinking my pages. At any rate, I'm happy to be a page rank 2 because it shows my hard work is paying off.

This is called "page rank" for a reason. It depends on a number of factors-interlinking, backlinks, etc. Your home page will typically have a stronger page rank then the rest of your site because you have more links/ stronger links to it and the rest of the site is linked to your homepage typically.
