Website redesign made it drop off 1st page

Hi
I have recently redesigned my website which was appearing on the first page of google for the search term website design chesterfield (in 3rd spot). I pretty much kept the structure the same but it unfortunately dropped down to the second page not long after I made the new site live. Anybody know what may have caused this, i'm not a SEO expert but I have been working on getting it back up and it has just moved back up onto the first page into position 9 so hopefully it will work its way up higher.

    That's only normal when redesigning a site. Since it's steadily climbing, as you say, give it some more time to settle and take it from there.

    Anytime you make changes to a website, it can have an impact, either positive or negative, on your rankings. Especially if you rewrote the content, changed title tags, moved sidebars from one side of the page to the other, changed the URL or link structure, etc.
