Help! My Competitor has half the Posts but Ranks better in SERPS

Hi,

I would like some opinions on why my competitor out ranks me in the SEPS when they publish less than half as many blog posts as I do.

Competitor: hxxp://blog.gamesparadise.com.au/ (xx equals tt)

Me: hxxp://www.gamesfromeverywhere.com.au/blog/

I don't want to bust my guts publishing all my posts only to find it gets me no where.

    They optimize their pages better than your site. take some time analyze the site on the type of keywords the use, understand their backlink structure.

    you should analyze both the on page and off page factors. if you don't have the time to do it. go to fiverr, for only $5 the're a lot of gigs that'll do the task for you

    Backlinks-They must have more than you. Also, social sites like Facebook can help you rank higher.

    Find some of the threads on this forum that will help you with getting more backlinks and on-page SEO.

    OK, I am hearing the words.... backlinks, backlinks, backlinks. Thanks for the advice so far. Funny you should mention Fiverr, Zoldusta, I tried a guy there and he gave me 76 pages of analysis.

    I am sure its all very impressive (if I understood it) but I would have been just as happy with 5 very specific issues and 5 very specific strategies for dealing with them.

      David, he doesn't have that many back-links from you. You could work on some more optimization, but to build up your back-links. Just google your main keyword you're trying to rank for and find atleast 20 blogs, read and then leave a comment. This will build up your back-links and give you a better ranking.

          Just wondering why you're concentrating on Australia. I'm an Australian Web developer and a firm believer in keeping things International.

          .com.au is not, to me, a very good domain extension, very limited scope unless someone is looking for kangaroos and koalas! I have many clients with .com.au extensions, but they are only looking for local markets.

          For my own sites, TLDs are THE best! ccTLds are not good for the best exposure, IMHO.

          Spread yourself Internationally. Australia only has 22 million people. The planet has 7 billion!

            Fred, thanks for the advice. The blog is .au because the online store is .au. I had thought about making the blog .com and I own the name but thought that transferring everything on my blog over to .com would kill all my seo work so far and leave me handling a truck load of dead links.

            Am I right in thinking this way?

            Also, what are TLD's and cc TLd's?

    Dont drive yourself nuts over it. Follow what the posters' above have said, and also find other ways to get traffic to your site other than search engines.

    They probably have more offsite SEO than you.

    Maybe some .gov or .edu backlinks could do the trick?

    A simple $5 gig on Fiverr might help you out.
