Hey,

Which tool would be better to use to see how much traffic a keyword might get in Youtube? Google or Youtube?

The obvious answer might be the Youtube tool but Ive heard that its not that accurate compared to the Google one, and that its for paid ads, etc

Do you have link for YouTube tool? Didn't know they had one until now. The Google tool can be used for more than paid ads

No problem Randall. A better tool is the "search keyword term" tool inside the youtube video control panel. You can get some good long tail keyword ideas from there.

I think you can combine both of these keyword tools. I like to search for a keyword on Google, and some results are often from Youtube, and I will go to the Youtube page to check.

After I get on Youtube, and finish one watch, I may search keywords using Youtube's keyword search box to find more videos.

Any ideas how I can incorporate the two?

Would I first find a keyword, then check to see if it gets traffic from YouTube? How would I do it

  • I think google keyword tool is the best for both. Don't really know about the ads though.

I use both when looking at making videos. The youtube keyword tool will not show exact searches and for many terms it will not show anything. I like to start with google and use youtube when looking for tags for my videos.

I will do experiment with YouTube tool and test the demand on Youtube itself.

For getting max result, I optimize keyword in the title and description at Youtube. Google will be index the Youtube video, so the video will get double traffic from both Youtube itself and Google.
