I'm completely stumped. There has been a fair amount of links built to this site over the past 2 months and WMT is only showing 2 links coming back to the site.

Sites like this show over 500:
SEO Overview: www.theasbestoscenter.com on Ahrefs

Not sure why nothing is ranking right now and any help would be much appreciated.

I am the SEO in my signature and I'm clueless as to what the solution is, hence the reason for the question. I wish we could go back to the days of helpful advice rather than trolling/comedic commentary in every thread.

I wish we could go back to the days when people LEARNED their trade before offering services to others.

google is not a reliable way to check your backlinks as they only show a fraction for obvious reasons. use tools like majesticseo, ahrefs, and semrush.

I have ranked 20+ sites over the past 3 years successfully for super competitive keywords. I know my trade and i've parleyed it into a very lucrative career here in Los Angeles. You don't know who I am and what i've accomplished in my life in terms of internet marketing.

It was a simple question with a not so simple answer. Just looking for some help with this site.

Over the past 3 years anyone could open scrapebox and senuke, faceroll on the keyboard, and rank #1 for competitive keywords. and those same people would call themselves SEO experts with lucrative careers the best SEO advice you will ever get is from Matt Cutts. do things right and you will benefit in the long term. mostly everyone else is trying to sell something. there are no secrets. remember the saying, KISS

Keep trying different strategies. I imagine that you'll eventually find the winning one! Also, keep it white-hat.

I think the solution is you need stronger backlinks.

Mike Friedman had a good reason to be skeptic. I checked out the backlinks with SEO Spyglass and to be honest is doesn't look like you have any backlinks that carry much weight, especially for competitive terms.

I know there is more to SEO than just the backlinks, but if we examine those, the pages that are PR3 and up have high outbound links. It's only until we get to the PR2s do we see a page with outbound links of 25 and under. I know there is some PR passed on even with high outbound links, but if you are aiming to rank competitive terms, you need to do better.

      Edited to add:

I did use Rank Tracker, and Yahoo! seems to be the only search engine showing that site any love. The best ranking I've seen is #4 for "asbestos attorney california."

Maybe you are new to WMT, but it is routinely months behind in its data.

Is two months too early to be wondering about where my rankings are? Am I just not being patient enough?

Had a quick look at the backlink profile. First 3 I checked are all from your network, all the links going back to this site are using the same article.

The 3 blogs I looked at from the network are identical, same articles in exact same order with links going back to your clients sites, only difference was the theme.

Maybe something to do with that.

You are going to be waiting a long time if you do not start building better links. All I see are guestbook posts, blog comments on pages with 100's of comments, and you are using some kind of blog network that will definitely get taken down (along with your client's site soon).

The blog network is so poorly designed and maintained that the same article appears 4 times in a row on one of the sites right before your article.
