Why Don't I see PPC on Google For Cetain Key Words ?

Unless something recently changed with Google, I can't find any PPC Campaigns from Advertisers wanting to dominate certain keywords.

Currently, I have a client that wants to rank high for certain keywords via PPC (which is from my advice) rather wait for the difficulty of ranking through regular SEO.

What is going on that I need to know about? I've tried multiple keyword phrases (across multiple industries) and know PPC advertising campaigns are noted anywhere. Did Google drop this as a viable way to market a businesses services?

Thanks Warriors !

The keywords you are checking probably have no search volume, so advertisers are not bidding on them.

Highly unlikely. For example, when I search for "Chicago Restaurants" or "Video Games" or Buy Sanyo TV", NO PPC ads come up. Why is that as you would think these would be very highly competitive keywords ?

I had the same issue yesterday. I also was using very broad keywords for a very popular product.

Why is this happening? Anything going on with Google?

What happen in the 2009 Slapfest? Perhaps this is why many are not advertising on Google?

        Probably not.

Paid Clicks – Aggregate paid clicks, which include clicks related to ads served on Google sites and the sites of our Network members, increased approximately 33% over the third quarter of 2011 and increased approximately 6% over the second quarter of 2012.
CPC has actually decreased. That's good for everyone who wants in the game.
Also a factor of google dealing with a depressed economy, businesses looking
        to lower their own expenses.

There is only so many people in the world doing online searches at any
given moment...a lot of people are moving to mobile, which google is
rapidly moving as well. Google cannot make babies to populate the earth,
buy computers, and do searches via google.com.

Meaning, how many ads can they stuff on a given page? Ad space is
limited. PC sales are flat or falling.

If you don't have ads showing for video games, at that point in time,
the search term is just too broad. Google has no idea if you want to
play them, buy them, or whatever.

Very common to see ads on the second page, not the first.
Smart adwords users wisely choose position in some cases,
purposely bidding below a certain number.

Google does not just take money and show an ad. Maybe people
think that. Google provides what it feels its searchers want or
need. That's not always a paid ad. They are not going to put
an ad up just because someone bids high. Frustrates adwords
users, but it makes perfect sense.

Calm before the Black Friday storm maybe...

No it certainly is a bit odd.

I do see ads after the first page. Only the map shows on page one though.
