Backlinking Strategies

People seem to give me advice to do one thin or another with back links and I learned you need to diversify and goo Backlinking will generate more traffic sources, but can I get some input on what type of variety to build?

Basically can anyone share an effective MANUAL Backlinking strategy that I can implement first on my own then once I am generating enough traffic I can outsource the work?

There are the 2 SEO recipe:

1. Quality content
2. Quality back link
