Hi there

I have a wordpress site, and a few days ago one of the pages was indexed in the google. I could google the title and it would appear.

I tried googling the title again today but it's nowhere to be seen. Whats going on? Is this normal for it to be there and then not?

I tried even googling the direct link but not there aswell.

Any advice or is this normal?

BTW im able to google the domain name and that appears but on pages appear/
Thank you for your reply

Michael

      Hey Michael,

I you hosting this wordpress blog on your own domain, or is it from wordpress.com?

I've noticed a few times when (I don't anymore) I created blogs on wordpress.com along with blogger, they disappear and than reappear later on.

Never had that problem yet with one being hosted on my own domain.

How long have you had the site?

How are you checking Google? Are you using this - site:http://www.yourdoma.com

Or are you just googling your blog post title?

Even if it did disappear Michael, I would just continue writing posts. After a few days (depending how competitive your niche is) your site will get index.

Posts appear and disappear as google indexes other sites with similar titles. If you search for your domain name, this would give you a better sense if your site is actually indexed or not.

With the method you showed, yes the website appears. my domain name appears, the problem is that one of the posts i previously posted no longer appears. It seems that google has only index my domain name but not the posts.

I think you should always do make new posts every day and check it it is really published or not. The post will always showed up in google. If one of your post disappear maybe a problem would be is that you post is not yet published and not yet being confirmed in google.

              Hey Michael,

If you do a search using the exact title phrase for your post into google blogs, you'll see that the posts doesn't stay up there for long as it indexes other blog posts.

I have niche though that I have at the very top of google blogs where it says "related blogs" and it stays up there permanently for that keyword phrase.

What I did is saturate posts using that same keyword phrase (I've got 50+) and now google blogs has my url at the top for related sites almost always!

Get ton's of traffic this way, but the key is to saturate google with them. Then I select another long tail keyword phrase and repeat. Sometimes you can be permanant on google blogs with fewer posts depending on how competitive your niche is.

You're not going to every be on google's blog page 1 if your using very competitive keywords and even if you are, it won't last very long.

              Good luck,

Just carry on with your usual promotion of the site and see if it returns

Thank you for you detailed reply.
Yes i do have the sitemap and all in one seo
I would say it's well optimized. I've been building
backlinks via anchor text for the keyword so
I dunno if thats been a factor for not showing up
    in the search results.

BTW how does google blogs work ? you dont submit
to a special url for google blogs ? or is it that google
knows my wordpress is a blog and it will automatically
list (should list) in google blogs ?

    Thank you

Watch this quick video I made for you Michael. Let me know if you have questions after. There is no submission for google blogs. Wordpress does that for you already.

      Good luck,

Thank you for taking the time out to make the video, very informative. I had no idea people actually use google blogs, I dont use it, I dont know anyone that uses it... So from your experience I guess it works cause you're getting lots of traffic.

You're probably right about my domain being new, only 6 days old. Let me give it a while and see whats happens.

        Thanks again for your support.

I'd agree with Paul. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If your Wordpress blog has only been online for a few days then Google's probably just sussing it out. Google takes into consideration how old the domain is. If it's fairly new, Google will need time to monitor it.
Continue regularly posting to your blog and give it a few more days or even weeks. Google probably just wants to make sure it's indexing a worthy site.
