I have a few Adsense sites whose page views dropped substantially since end of September. Did anyone have the same experience? What major changes on Google algorithms that could affect our SERPs? We depend on oraganic search traffic from Google.

Thanks for your insights in advance.

I don't know if this is the same case but I have experienced similar issues in the past. Its like when you first launch your site Google gives you a boost in rankings, then after a couple of weeks they adjust your rankings and sometimes you lose ranking altogether. People call this the Google dance.

The temporary boost you're referring to is called QDF (Query Deserves Freshness). Google admits that they give a small boost to new websites in order to be give them a chance to see how searchers react engage with the new site. This boost eventually wears off a set amount of time.

The google dance is completely different, and usually occurs after a heavy dose of backlinking. During the "google dance" a website will plummet in rankings and then return to a position that is usually higher than before. There are debates about the reasons behind the google dance, but my guess is that it disguises the tendencies of Google's algorithm and makes it harder to game.

      .....

As for the OP's original question. I have not noticed any significant change in SERP movement after the start of September. However, Google releases over 500 algorithm changes every year. That's almost 2 per day. Google's also incredibly sensitive and harsh in the last couple years. So it's entirely possible Google doesn't like your sites anymore. Figure out why that is, and make the appropriate changes.
