Is there a tool to monitor website for duplicate content?

I understand that copyscape.com monitor specific pages, but not a whole website.

How can I monitor the whole website?

Thank you

You could always use Google Alerts and enter "a specific phrase or sentence" from each of the pages of your website. Then Google will email you whenever that exact sentence is posted anywhere else. However, CopyScape works best for finding sites that are scraping and automatically spinning your content.

  • Fahad,

Is there some specific reason you need to monitor for duplicate content? Are you doing this on your own site or across the web in general? If you are searching the web for those who took your content I would not waste your time. People that are doing this will eventually be penalized for it and as long as you are generating good content and everything else on your site is on the up and up, you should be fine.

If you do decide to do it thought maybe this could help,

Yes,CopyGator and CopyScape are two good tools to monitor your website for duplicate content.I would like to say here,if your website content has indexed then you don't need to worry because now Search Engines have become much smarter and they know who have copied content of original website.Website having duplicate content can not get tip ranking in Google. So don't worry and if you want to use tools then above mentioned both tools are very helpful.

I've seen stolen content indexed rapidly on sites that are higher PR than the original content. It happens all the time. You need to come down on these sites hard with a take-down notice. Go to the hosting company if they do not respond and threaten legal action.
