What was your experience with godaddy as a web host?
I use them for domain registration, but as a hosting provider I have heard some real bad things about them. Is that true?

It is a nice gesture from the OP to let others here know of the discount but since you asked I have to tell you Godaddy hosting is awful and should be avoided. Hostgator for example is cheap and cheerful and i've used them for years and never experienced downtime or issues.

I'm using Godaddy hosting for 2 month and I cannot say anything bad about them, server is always online it's quite fast, for SEO it's not bad, can you who are telling that it's bad hosting explain what exact you don't like in Godaddy's hosting, abstractedly I can say for hostgator the same that it's very bad hosting but I cannot prove this with the facts, what fact can you perform about Godaddy hosting?

      Huh?

Sorry, GoDaddy's solution to overloaded, jam packed servers is to throw load balancers in front of them.

Even though I'm a web host - I can tell you that HostGator is 10 times better than GoDaddy & they are both my direct competitor. However, HG is now run by EIG, so the "corporate greed" model now applies at both places.

what fact can you perform about Godaddy hosting?

That's just a tip of the iceberg. I find it hilarious when running into the "Hosting Ambassadors" that are out doing damage control because the company can't get it's hosting together.

We acquired another company earlier this year & had to create a GoDaddy account ind order to push domains from the old companies account to ours - probably the worst mistake ever made. The amount a crap marketing junk they send out is extremely ridiculous. Some of the domains we pushed from the other company we bought don't even expire for another 2 years, yet they're already spamming with renewals & upgrades.

I used godaddy for several years and only once did I have a problem. But for the most part godaddy has been very good and easy to use. Just my personal experience, I now use Liquid Web and dont waste time with these cheesy shared hosting accounts like HostGator. "We will give you unlimited everything for under $20 a month!" Yeah right.

I've been with Hostgator for years, as long as HG provides very fast live support & quality up-time, I'll never leave, not even for some coupon on a competitor.

This isn't a sales pitch, I could care less If anyone else ever buys HG hosting, just saying I have no plans to ever leave HG.
    • Hostgator = Host
    • Namecheap = Domain

Good luck with that Godaddy coupon & 17 up-sales, lol.

I am the same Yukon, i'll also never leave no matter what for the reasons you have posted above. I saw what looked like a great deal in the WSO section for Cyber Monday, which was unlimited hosting for less than $10 a year. However, despite that my opinion is if it isn't broke then don't fix it.

LOL about the Godaddy upselling it's so annoying and they just pray off newbies.
