what is the difference between indexing tool and pinging tool

just wanna know if really there is any difference between an indexing tool and a ping tool

and also if they perform the same function

  • A ping tool will ping the URLs you put into it. The reason for this is to bring in the search engine spiders and hopefully they will think your URLs are index worthy. This is mainly used for large lists of backlinks or blogs.

    A rapid indexer is used mainly on a handful of URLs or just a single URL. A rapid indexer will put your URL into a ton of information type sites where the spiders crawl in hopes of getting them to your site for indexing.

    They perform similar functions but aren't exactly the same.

  • Pinging is just where you use a pinging service which is something that sends a notification to a search engine that a page has been updated and the search engine bots need to come over and see.

    Indexing is where the search engine adds that page to their index if they haven't already. Pinging can therefore help get things indexed..
