Who says you can't rank an EMD with no content and also have a PR4. :p

How Does Homeopathy Work?
#search engine optimization #content #emd #great #pr4
  • Lmao

I'm glad this is the first thing I'm posting on here at WF hahaha.

I haven't even checked the PR yet because I started LOLing when I read the domain name and the index page
  • It's funny, but it won't stay there It will be gone in the next panda refresh

    • I think that site has survived the Panda and Penguin's might, that's why it stayed there for 2 years.

  • Panda refresh is due soon and i am sure you will see your site drop in the rankings after that to be honest but please let us know if it stays in the same position after the refresh

    • Really? And you call yourself an "SEO Mastermind"?

Content has nothing to do with PR. Incoming links are what gives a site its PR.

If the links remain, the PR will remain.

    • Panda will not hurt the site. Panda has to do with bad content, not limited content. If Panda hurt sites with limited content, then google.com would be screwed.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • No worries
  • terrific example, thanks for sharing
  • Matt cutts is not part of a team that manually checks web spam... He is strictly a spokesman.

    • LOL, I'm not saying Matt Cutts himself checks these forums, but believe me there are people who watch SEO forums. He's actually the head of web spam at google (much more than just a spokesman ).

Really I doubt the owner of that site (link in OP) is trying to monetize, they have some other agenda to flame homeopathy.

The owner of that site is (Merseyside Skeptics Society) & owns the following sites:
    • http://www.howdoeshomeopathywork.com/

From what I see, the goal is to get the public stirred up.

I imagine they have more sites than the 3 listed above.

    • Great link bait with a perfect domain name! I can see all sorts of people trolling with that URL. I'll be adding it to me arsenal. :p
  • I actually find this rather amusing. It makes sense. If you've been building links since you've registered this domain in 1995 and it's a constant thing you're doing then I'm not surprised that your a PR4.
Keep on trucking my good man.
  • Paul I just have to say - Your sig is blasphemy. How dare you tell people that in business you might have to spend some money
  • What do you guys say about Movie Online ?
It's an Exact Match Domain (EMD) but #1 for "movie online" (more than 6 million monthly search )

I see monthly searches (big difference).

  • It is all about looseness of Google! Or being over-smart as well.
  • This EMD site crushed panda, penguin and humingbird updates.

Lesson learned, Content is not king, quality back link and relevancy is the key. For that search term it's still at #1 on serp.

    Sorry for the necro.
  • Usually I frown upon people pumping year old threads, but in this case, I'm grateful.

It's interesting to see that this has withstood the "ruthless Google updates", with just a handful of words.

What are the experts take on this? EMDs still strong?

LOL, one year later the site is still there with a whole bunch of crappy links like blog comments that the owner placed him self.

A lot of it seems to come from relevant domains though, maybe that's the key?
  • This website is a joke... No matter if it has PR0 or PR8... It won't help his owner to sell anything! It's not even worth the time to build those backlinks. I saw it's live since 2010... I can't understand the reason to create it!

    • Thousands of new comers can learn from it and these types of things may help to understand new Google updates, that gonna come. Most probably it was to test op's concern and than he moved to bigger projects.

      - is not it make enough reasons?
    • I thought the content was everything I'd ever need to know about the subject. A true authority site...

  • LOL Funny website!

    It doesn't!
  • To ensure that site doesn't get a penguin penalty, they should dilute their exact match anchor text to 1 part in 6.02214 Ã--10^23
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
