Paid Keyword SEO Really Work?

So i have been doing the whole website thing for about 7 years and throughout the years i have used a few different services.

I bought .EDU links, hired people to make blogs,
Paid for a monthly SEO service.. blog comments, forum link, ect. The basic normal services everyone offers.. its all the same..

I'M OVER IT!

This really feels like a good scam..

It really seems like each time you get a report from anyone who you paid to do SEO gives you some xml file with a list of urls and if you actually check the pages you will see its in a comment that is total spam..

Or a forum profile with 0 post 0 activity and the only link is in the profile page..

Maybe you buy a blog post.. If you read the blog it's total crap.. makes no sense most of the time or looks like "spun" text.
Also it will be on a blog that is spammed out with 100,000+ spam blogs with a worthless domain name. 0 PR and probably never gets traffic.

Maybe this is just my experience or a lot of people don't take the time to find out what their paying for... What work was done...

My conclusion is this.

SEO services are a scam.

You can not tell me you know how to beat Google at their own game.
Google's main focus is to provide the best, most relevant, website..

Doing millions of aspects, from content on site, to time on site, and bounce rate.

Really you could hire the most experienced SEO professional doing the most proven SEO tactics. But without a good time on site and bounce rate you will never stay ranked #1

That's just 2 aspects to the Google search engine.

People say i use different IP address, emails, names, each time they make a blog or comment. If you do that your using proxies. Don't you think Google will mark proxies as spam..

Now we have to deal with a new SEO called "Negative competitor SEO tactics"

You basically spam your competitor's url getting it removed from Google..
And Google reply's "We are working to prevent competitor's from harming your website. If you find a site linking to your website contact the site owner to remove the link."

Basically meaning they have not found a way to fix this issue. And negative SEO can be done on your website removing you from Google for months..

So post your thoughts, let me know what you think about this.

PLEASE NOTE: 99.9% of anyone who replies to this thread and posts a link to their own SEO website is just one of the many scammers. Give your trust into real reviews. You can tell fake from real. One give away is if you can't give a review. Website owners make fake review/comment pages.. If the comment has a photo its fake. If there is no "Add comment" it's all fake.

Just some last pointers..

  • Tahoecale,

That’s really rough that you had so many bad experiences. You are right that there are a lot of scammers out there. There are also some really reputable businesses. It does help to know a little about the industry so you can know if you are getting your monies worth or not.

Here are a couple examples of reputable companies,

Internet Marketing Company - SEO & Pay Per Click Management Services | Pure Visibility

distilled: seo, ppc & online marketing agency in London, Seattle & New York

FYI – Good SEO takes time, good SEO is boring, good SEO is simple and when its finished you will definitely notice a difference.

Hopefully you can find something that works for you,

purevisibility.com This is a total scam..

Ok so this is your typical spam/scam one the user "TheContentAuthority" says basically this site works.. in reality its a scam....

How do i know this you may ask well lets start with the home page tagged with links back to its own site for an example, if you look on the home page you will see a link

      search engine optimization (SEO)

with the link to its own site /services/search-engine-optimization/

This basically means purevisibility.com really wants to be ranked on google for keyword "search engine optimization (SEO)"

      But guess what there NOT!

Not even ranked on the first 3 pages of google for that exact keyword
So here is what is happening

      1. TheContentAuthority Is working for purevisibility.com and he is just spamming..

      2. TheContentAuthority Purchased from purevisibility.com and got good results.

You decide what one is right.

      • Tahoecale,

I actually don't work with Pure Visibility nor have I purchased services from them before. I know other businesses who have had success with them so I thought you might find them helpful. I'm sorry you can't seem to find anything that work for you. Perhaps SEO services are not a good fit for you.

        Best,

Or option number 3. They were just trying to help you out and point you in the direction of someone that actually knows what they are doing. Both the companies he mentioned are actually pretty well known. Distilled especially.

TheContentAuthority was just trying to point you towards companies that are known to do good work, and for that you call him a scam artist.

(Side note and unsolicited plug, TheContentAuthority runs a pretty good service himself for anyone looking for content.)

Judging an SEO company by whether or not they rank on page one for SEO or search engine optimization can be misleading. There are thousands of SEO companies. Most do not bother to try to rank for those terms because the cost involved outweighs the benefit.

Could an SEO that really knows what they are doing rank for those terms? Absolutely, but then they would also have to pass that cost onto their customers. They could no longer take clients that cannot afford at least $6000+/month on SEO.

Some SEOs just choose not to work in that market.

It does not mean they do not know what they are doing or that they are automatically scammers.

Your mistake was buying .EDU links, forum links, etc. You bought low quality services, so you got low quality results. That doesn't make every SEO a scammer. In fact, people selling that kind of stuff I wouldn't even call an SEO. They are just backlinkers, and not very good ones.

If you are telling that commenting on the blogs using the proxies is not good and Google know about it then it is not right.Google doesn't have any access to those website logs to see who is commenting.

Also there are so many tools to scrape the google results, google rankings etc which uses proxies!

See quote's like that just make no sense.. not to be rude syedakram but you don't work for google so your comment holds no value really....

google could make it so adword users get better rank in a extremely small way.. maybe even adsense gives you a small boots.

Really my whole point is getting ranked on google is extremely complex and people who clam to know how SEO works are liers.. If you clam to know SEO so much than why is your website not ranked #1?? hmm

Try this, find a someone selling SEO and and google keywords you know that person would want. like "Buy SEO" or "get my site ranked" "Buy backlinks" If there not ranked for those or some other big keywords guess what they don't know how to do SEO... Or why wouldn't they be ranked their self...

        Just my opinion

It sounds like you have been seeking out the lowest bidder or wasting time shopping in the WSO section. You got what you paid for and now are classifying all SEOs based on the low quality services you bought.

By the way, you are ripping on SEOs, but are you going to try to tell us that fake +1's and Facebook Likes provide any benefit?

This thread makes a lot more sense now.

Ok first off why does my sig always get into the topic.. REALLY ANNOYING!!

This seems to be one thing i see happen a lot on this forum.. it needs to be addressed!

I mean what is a forum? a place to exchange ideas, get input, voice opinions, and thats all im doing.

I want to apologize to TheContentAuthority i didn't really mean to say this was exactly what YOU are doing.....
The meaning i was wanting to express is that this is what it normally looks like...

Members A says "whats a good seo website"
Member B says " this link is good trust me"

          normally = scam

My whole point beware. do your research.

Check for review. know what a real review looks like and fakes.

Yes, websites post fake client reviews...

Its not so, you shouldn't take help of PPC to do SEO, do it naturally without spending money, this would be the good idea.

PPC increases visitors of your site and increasing traffic is also counted in SEO but it is one point among several hundreds of other factors.

Well I think that one could categorize all SEO as scammy if the only purpose of the content and links generated is to increase rankings. Rather than call it SEO why not call it Content Generation? As long as the content is good, the traffic will follow and if the content is worded in a way that it represents the keyword desired, it will boost your rankings. I think it truly is as simple as that. Unfortunately, good content takes time so it is easier to order another 1,000 forum profile links and hope for the best...
