So I was recently able to snag a pretty good comment link from a reputable blog in my nich.
Upon checking my backlinks through backlinkwatch however, I see links from that reputable site from as far back as 2008. How is this possible?
The comment I made was made on the 24th of October of 2012, so why is BackLinkWatch showing me links from back in 2008? Very mysterious?
My site is also pretty new, registered this year and was not prev registered. Any ideas?

    The only possibility here is, you probably have commented on an old blog page. However, if you pull out the page and check when you made your comment, you will be able to view the date you commented.
