Is there such a think as doing high quality link building too fast? (on an aged domain)

It would be very hard to build links to aggressively to an aged site like this.

That being said, you need to know what you are doing. Avoid stuff that will screw you over in the future or trip filters/penalties now.

Stuff like:

• Make sure you diversify your anchor text LOTS.
• Don't get to many blogroll links.
• Avoid footer links.
• Look for relevant high quality links first and then get lower quality links later.
• Don't build automated/spammy links to your money site. I mean it can work but it will up the risk factor a lot more. You can used tiered links to get a similar effect with much less risk.

Do all the above and you should be fine assuming your site is a good user experience also.

Google webmaster tools will send you an email alert if you're getting more links faster than anybody else with similar content

BUT like andy says... it would be hard to do.

Why not just do it in a safe way that has been proven to work? Patience is a virtue. Go ahead and blast your site with thousands of links but as they say: "easy come, easy go". Meaning you may get a new ranking easy or you may just as easily destroy your website. And for what? Because you can't be bothered to wait for a few months longer?

Your last question is kinda incomplete. You cannot just go about asking " i wanna rank fast like this . am i doing it right".

Actually , all this link velocity stuff is a baseless nonsense over hyped by spammers and "get xxx link blast" SEOs. As long as you are doing quality stuff , you shouldn't care about anything else, provided you know what really quality means to google.

High PR links in itself is not a proper SEO plan. A high PR link sitting as a blog comment at a medical site pointing to you technology blog won't do much good. Just saying.

To get a more thorough answer the metrices provided by you are insufficient. You need to tell more about the competition of keywords you are targeting , you onpage and many other things. Again , why would you like to expose you niche. So its better to learn what is good by experience, get your self a few test sites and work your strategies on them and find out whats best. I do it like this and i know what works and what doesn't.


Now again , if you had all the time in this world you would have done that already. You have other things to do ? Life is troublesome

If you get ranking fast then try building links slowly, it would help..
