What about Nofollow backlinks?

Hello,
So with all the hassle of google throwing websites to nowhere in its pages I'm planning to promote my websites online using legit methods of course without SPAMMING, I'm not ready to spread a bad image of my website. My question is: Does it matter how many nofollow backlinks to collect everyday and will that affect my websites rancking?

  • No-follow backlinks wont help you get any serp movements , homever it's ok to keep some no-follow backlinks in your profile to make things look more natural. Also keep in mind that posting useful comments on related niche blogs can drive a lot of targetted traffic on your money site.
  • There are a lot of controversies with no follow links. Contrary to what godmode said , i my self have experienced good SERP movements with nofollow links. Its just that nofollow ones don't pass pagerank but they do pass SEO value , this is at least what i have experienced.

    • Yep same here. I can confirm, without a doubt, that DOFOLLOW backlinks do help you move up in SERPS.

  • It is always wise to maintain a healthy mix of do follow and no follow links. By doing this you follow the natural linking pattern, makes hings less suspicios for google

    • I agree with the healthy mix of nofollow / follow link comments. Especially if you're in the internet marketing / SEO niche then no-follow links are extremely common. However, if you're in say.. the mommy blogging niche than you will probably have lower number of no-follow links.

      Overall, I recommend not worrying about it either way.
  • With my experience through several campaigns, I can confirm that Nofollow links do help me improve my ranking.
