Adsense CTR under 1%... How to solve this?

CTR on my main site, link to site, is under 1%... It's actually, 0.55% and this is really worrying me.

Any tips on how could I increase my CTR?

Also these are the best ad positions that I managed to come up with, after 3 months of research. I don't want to add large ads in my main content because it would wreck the style of my site.

Is there a way to optimize ads in the ad review center, maybe to block some networks or anything like that? Also should I add link ads maybe, would it decrease CPC of my account?

I'm barely making the threshold with this, I'd like my CTR to be at least 2% or higher.

Hmmm... just gotta keep testing. That's the only way to get the intel you need to make smart decisions about this.

You can use a php script to swap out different ad types (ie: colors, sizes, images vs. text, etc). You'll need to create different ad channels and keep track of everything. This will give you a clear indication of what's working.

You may also want to check out some high-traffic sites that are similar to yours and see how they're designed; then create a similar layout on your site.

    Hope this helps.

If it was 1% it would be nice, but it's not even 1! so that's the problem here

What did you use to make the slider for the 160 x 600?

Just my 2 cents on your site. The trending bar is very dominant, I didnt even notice the 728 x 90.

I understand you have it below the menu for "whoops" clicks but maybe change the drop down menus to 1 or 2 items not 7.

Have you tried half banners inside the post content (after post title).

You can also try, flipping the site and putting the sidebar on the left.
